Cost of repaint

My 2007 V8V has had chips on the front and the two rear panels since I bought it, and probably some other chips/scratches if I start to look hard enough. I am thinking of a repaint and wonder who's had that done and how much it cost?

The front end and the rear side panels where stones fly in from the front wheels. Plus whatever else needs to be done for blending; I don't know if the doors/bonnet/front sides will need doing for that purpose. The car was detailed last year, but the chips remain.

Why would it devalue the car?

I've had one estimate, of 3,300 + VAT for the front, the two rear side panels and blending into the doors/sills etc.

Seems expensive, even accounting for being in London, but I have nothing to benchmark against.
