So plates came in. DMV opened at 9. Got there at 8:30AM and was number 83 in line. Took 2 hours to get in the door. Walked away with my new plates at 1:15PM.

Anyway thought we might start a thread of personal plates?

A little humble pie - sitting in waiting room the other day and the secretaries see the car outside the window. After some discussion they decide it's a Ford Tbird because of the wings on the hood. They ask if it's mine and I say "Yes, it's an Aston Martin" They reply "Oh, who makes that?"

Had an 1100 Suzuki Katana bike years back and had MC KAT on the plates. No one got it.

So in England you own the plates forever? In California if they aren't associated with a registered vehicle they go back as being available. You can keep the plate but someone else can get it to use on their vehicle.
