Unbelievable stroke of luck,,,,a circuit booking cancellation earlier this week gives us a fantastic opportunity for our next Track Day to be held at the famous Goodwood circuit. I have agreed a very competitive price, 30 cars @ £350, which includes the VAT. The organisers have asked me to confirm by Wednesday of next week, so I'll start the list now and lets see how we get on.

What deposit do they need by next Wednesday Bob? I am guessing that any deposit will be non-refundable after that date or a date in the future?

The reason I ask is that no-one wants you stuck with a bill for £x000's if only 15 or 20 sign up. Obviously if 15 sign up, then that will on the premise of £350, but not £700 eek So again it needs to be made clear me old china.

I would happily spoil your day with my Audi if places are left and no-one minds yes
The only problem I will have is if you don't put your name down.

We didn't actually discuss a deposit but previously the deposit payment hasn't been requested 'immediately' the booking was confirmed. I will check though, thanks Cockers.

Sorry Bob, no can do this time frown
Now thats a bit of a bugger,,,,,cos apart from DBS's representing everything that is utterly irresistible about Aston Martin cars, without your inimitable presence the grid walk will be an utter disaster Nicholas. frown I make no apology for not hiding my feelings,,,I can only think there must be an important something family going on,,,in which case,,,I completely understand. yes

What's the noise limit, I thought Goodwood was very low and monitored constantly?
Its the first question I ask, on our day its 105db, the same as we had at Rockingham, Snetterton and Cadwell Park. Yes it is closely monitored.

I wish i knew, as i've been asked quite a few times now. I don't think its a financial issue, as i believe the track days paid for themselves. Seems Bob is doing an admirable job of filling the void though! How about Spa next year Bob? Track hire is less than you would expect.........
I am more than willing to organise the Track Days Paul,,Spa would be on my list for sure. Back to the here and now, the take up for Goodwood hasn't yet 'taken off' as I thought it might, we'll see how it goes over the next couple of weeks. In my limited experience (3 Track Days) £350 per car is at the upper limit for most private guys here on the forum. The more popular the circuit, the fewer days available and the more expensive they are, plus, we do need 105db which isn't easy to find. Patience and good humour will win the day.

This wouldn't be appropriate for my Aston, although I did have a couple of hours on track at Monza a few years ago wink Regards price; the TVR people do Goodwood 105db for £250/day, 20 cars, else I'd have been tempted to bring the Griff along. smile
No idea when the TVR boys hold their day but I do know the rates get cheaper during the winter months,,,short cold days, not very appealing. Hope you'll join us RichB. driving

Not wishing to be defeatist but the take up rate is somewhat under the level I was expecting and that we need for this Track Day to happen. Lets see what happens over the coming weekend and see how its looking then.

From new the tyres on Vesuvius have 4336 miles on them (I do not pootle), they have done 3 Track Days taboot and will be good for Goodwood without doubt. Most of our Track Day drivers are out on track for maybe 4 or 5 20 minute sessions max,,,its enough to satisfy the need to feel the real power that your p&j can deliver "legally" and enjoy it along with other like minded astonauts. Not to mention the thrill of driving on some iconic tarmac,,,

Owning an Aston Martin isn't about fiscal prudence is it, its something one feels compelled to do and for me, part of that experience not to be missed, is the sheer exhilaration of taking Vesuvius into 3 figures 'safely and legally' on a race circuit, unforgettable,,,oh yes,,,,bring it on.

Sorry to see the list has stalled somewhat. What it means is that that unless we can confirm the numbers by Wednesday we will lose our 23rd Sept reservation date. Anticipating that is unlikely to be achieved, would you like me to see if there is a later date, say early October available?

I think for us to take a chance on the 23rd we should have at least 20 names by Wednesday morning. Sorry guys its not me, its the circuit hire manager, he has someone else wanting to take the day.

That's quite a bit of money...would be almost the cost of someone breathing over my car for an hour during its service at the moment!

It would be a shame Bob, but you can only go so far and hold out so long...
Just a thought; I wonder if we change the venue, say back to Snetterton or Rockingham, it would be cheaper to hire and maybe not so far for many to travel, reducing cost further?
