After over 2 years of wonderful ownership it is time to say goodbye to my lovely 4.7 roadster. I will really miss this car it has been fantastic and not put a foot wrong. It had very low mileage on collection at only 5300 miles and i have taken it up to 12500 which has been all on great runs out. These cars really get under your skin in a way my previous cars have never done.

Are you buying something else?
Now I did say these cars really get under your skin. The conversation with my wife went something like this "you know I want to keep this car forever " to which she sighed and rolled her eyes. I then said "well because I want to keep it forever i need to change it " Now this logic is man maths at it's best. So the end result is that I pick up a V12 Vantage from Aston Martin Works on Monday. You could say that I am excited

I know and I was warned. Having said that my current car will take some beating. I am going to miss it.

Sorry to hear that. It did look great at Hever in the summer. But then this miserable bl00dy weather we're having isn't exactly encouraging top-down motoring.

I too swapped out my merlot red roadster a few weeks ago for something less 'exposed'.

I can't believe you're roadster has gone. Your replacement does look rather lovely though!

One of the best Aston colours, but a bit of a pain to keep looking nice. Awesome once polished though. Love the red flake.
It is going to have a dose of your magic in the new year

Did you get the car bentley ?
Sorry for the late reply. Yes I have had the car two weeks now and I really love it. First of all I have to say a big thank you to Aston Martin Works and in particular Simon Stanton who dealt with my every request and delivered everything I asked for and more. The whole experience including the tour around the heritage centre was fantastic. The car itself is far more than I expected. On the drive down to part ex my 4.7 roadster which I loved I was wondering why on earth I was changing at all. So many times on this forum I have seen people post about not driving the V12 before being ready to buy and to be honest I have been very sceptical. The V8 is a great car but the V12 seems very different and I do not mean just the engine. It is a completely different beast and the noise it makes just on start alone is worth the spend. Being busy with work and having a young family I do not get to use the car as much as I would like but I have the feeling it is going to really hurt leaving this car for weeks at a time. In summary I am really glad to have made the change and this car really feels like a keeper.

I wouldn't swap mine for anything. Whereas the V8 is a brilliant car, the V12 is just so much more of everything. I'm back in the UK for two weeks on Saturday so can't wait. Looks like loads of rain, but at least it should be 10C or more, so at least the tyres might work. A bit smile
Weather looks warm for the time of year. Enjoy your festive break
