Hi All,
I would go out of my way if an oppertunity came up for a tour of the Gaydon Factory (if you know what i mean). Needless to say I would be VERY interested as from a manufacturing background etc etc etc
I do know that some tours take place but have no idea how / when / cost?? to be included in one
Im unfortunatly not likely to be buying a new AM car soon so wonder if any one know who to talk to etc to get a tour?
Any comment welcome
Thanks

If you get the oppertunity definatly go.
I went today and am still taking it all in. I had a one to one guide ( was expecting a small group) around all areas except the design studio (as you would expect) and the area where the pressings are bonded into the tubs as this is a clean room enviroment im told.
For those that dont know the factory is basically divided into two assembly lines. One was busy and the other was idle as being converted to start DB11 production later this year. I was surprised there were no DB11 being made although there were new seats being made in the upholstry area for the PP cars for July
I found it really interesting, they really are hand made or "assembled". I thought it would be busier, more noisey. The pace seemed a little slow to me with some of the workers stood around chatting on the line? The guide told me they were currently busy producing approx 12 - 14 cars a day. A mix of DB9 GT, Vantage V8 & 12 and vanquish models.
They did have a DB11 in the reception area the first time i have seen one and I can confirm the photos do not do it justice. The more you look at it the better it is IMO.
