I just got a call from Grange Brentwood saying they have / gonna get a V12 Vantage in Quantum Silver with only 7k miles and 2 owners. I told them that I'd already put a deposit down on my V12V last week but if anyone's looking I'd get onto them ASAP...

Good luck! smile

Good shout Nijius. Doubt it will hang around for long now
There might be a new member joining us soon mblade.... smile

The 7k mileage is very tempting but it's a year older than mine at 2010 and £1k more expensive (£84.9k). Plus I've already paid a £1k deposit and don't want to mess them around and like having a Carbon Black edition.

Hopefully a fellow PHer will get this!

The market for the V12V is absolutely insane. In fact it's not even a market, it's like a grey market: you have to be told personally of a potential one coming up for sale.

Here's my words of wisdom:

If you see it advertised. You're already too late.biggrin

It is indeed Cayman-Black, hope it all checks out when I view it, is there anything I need to be especially checking on a V12?

Kevin.
Kevin, you sneaky little....! biggrin

I thought I was imagining things when I wrote Quantum Silver and thought it was the Meterorite that had been posted up. Little did I know that two had come up!

My advice would be to check the condition of the leather on the seats, especially the side of the driver's seat as you're entering. There refurbishing the leather on my car.

Check the condition of the glass key as that easily gets scratched and dropped. And of course the aluminium gear knob as they told me they haven't come up with a decent solution to remove any scratches.

Finsllt the usual things such as the wheels brake conditions and tyre wear.

Enjoy seeing it! smile

thanks for the tips gentlemen, chips/cracks aside is there anything to look for on the ceramic brakes, if you ask, Ferrari will give a % wear measurement, can Aston do the same?
Yep they do the same, for example on mine they were 10% worn. Good luck!

My understanding was that AM only work on weighing the disks at every 3rd pad change, did the dealer take them off and weigh them for you to get the wear rate?
They actually took the wheels off anyway to send them away to be refurbished. I asked for various conditions of things and the workshop got back to the sales guy a day later so they must've taken the discs off...

FWIW, the V8V I part-ex'd my V12 is on the market for £9.5K above my part-ex price. At the time they talked about min £5-7K to prep a car for sales (which I thought was in perfect condition apart from wheels needing refurb).
I can concur with this. When I was looking at part exchanging or selling to a buyer my R8 I was told that the official Audi dealers normally need to add £10k on top of your price for car prep, warranty and of course profit.

Obviously less for cheaper Audis. But still a significant difference. I was being offered £15k less than I think my car is worth from the Aston dealers so I've gone back to the dealer I bought it from and he's gonna sell it for me at even more than I'd be happy to sell it. Haha. biggrin

Basically unless you're desperate for the money then just sell it yourself or get an independent dealer to sell it for you and let them take a cut. I was lucky as I didn't need the money and can wait.

With regards to the V12V though as demand is so high I'm sure they're offering far better prices to sellers...

Interesting one... a bit too black for my liking, not sure about the yellow brake calipers and of course the non-aluminium gear knob. Plus I prefer black wheels on a non black car to make more of a contrast. But as sukh said: each to their own! Plus mileage is good and Aston warranty until August is nice as well.

Having only recently got into following the V12V market: are these normally sold at independents? I thought that most of them would be snapped up by Aston dealers, no?

Price still remaining steady though... smile

FWIW - this one above is not mine, which may come up for sale if I move in Arpril/May. That alcantare knob looks interesting but I do myself like the black grille look and prefer the original diamond turned wheels. Here's my Darth..
Always good to see photos of a fellow CB V12V. I hope you don't end up moving, you'll be leaving a part of your soul behind... wink
