Why are you talking about a 440 bhp V8V?

You drive a man's car, 565 bhp with 12 bangers.

Thought the V8 was a training shoe for us youngsters. smile
I was enquiring about a GT12 yesterday and the salesman offered the above info on the GT8 and I just thought some "Youngsters" ( biggrin ) may find it interesting. The old boys definitely need the extra 125 bhp smile

I've heard £180k in all fairness, with a £10k spoiler/livery pack of some sort...

Add on some bits and that's approaching £200k
Base is 165/170 plus bits which will be the £200k

Booked in for first viewing at factory for next Thursday smile

I asked if it was a GT12 with a V8 and it is not.
No further info available apart from choice of manual or paddles and optional rear wing.

I am trying to talk my pal into the manual but he's having none of it !!!!

Just back from a wonderful day at Gaydon smile

If you are driving down from the north be aware that the Gaydon junction is closed southbound so its an extra 25 miles down to next junction and back up again.

First AM factory visit and it did not disappoint.
The place is beautiful and the representatives of the company are great.

The GT8 looks fantastic and sounds AMAZING!!!!!!!

My pal spec'd his to 200K level today with a few bits from Q added but that's without the centre locks which in magnesium are an £18,000 option.

I couldn't convince him to go manual which I think would suit the car so paddles it is just like the LHD car we saw today.

Over 100 of the 153 cars are now sold.

The clocks are fantastic. I want them for my V12VSR.

As the GT8 is supposed to be a replica of the GTE, I would want a correct GTE bonnet design.
If you compare the differences, GT8 to GTE, it is just the centre shaped depression that would give a plastics moulder some thought. The additional cost though would be insignificant, on a £200,000 car.

At Gaydon I discussed this and enquired about whether Q could stick a GTE bonnet on and it was a resounding no because of crash testing/homologation etc.

Has the colour scheme and wheel type been chosen yet?

Yes, and changed at least 3 times a day for the last 8 days!! biggrin

Its been Morning Frost with Kermit green halo scheme.
Its been Sea Storm with Speedway white halo scheme.
Its been Red with silver halo scheme.
Its been Red with no halo scheme
Its been Morning frost with Flugplatz halo scheme.
Its been Black with a Pink, yellow or acid green halo scheme.
Its currently a GULF inspired blue and a lot of orange.

The wheel type has actually not changed and is the 1st of the three options in satin black.

Black carpets.
Half cage (final decision will be after having seen an image of one fitted)
Alcantara Steering wheel with 12 O'clock accent and technology pack.
Glass switches
High line console.
Auto dim mirror.
700W HiFi.

Dealer fit CF tread plates and centre plate.

I expect that you know, there has been more than one shade of Gulf blue.
The photograph of the GTE that I posted earlier, is the light blue version, which I prefer.

Of course, the Gulf colours will not be seen on AMR cars this season. Green is back.
It's ok because today its back to launch colours as seen in all press releases and viewed at Gaydon!!!!
He is changing his mind so much every day that I no longer even reply to his messages with my opinion biggrin

Oh, and its a manual now!!! ha ha

Is there a master of Photoshop out there who fancies beating AM at showing their GT8 customers how the car looks in either of the other 2 Halo schemes of China Grey and Flugplatz or Stratus White with Kermit green?

Just wondered if any of you lucky buyers, have chosen the centre lock wheels?

Pricey, but they are a true mark of todays racing cars, and as an additional portion of the total cost, quite a modest percentage.

I think most cars will will have the £3500 5 stud option wheel.
8k extra for centre locks on the same weight wheel or 15K extra for magnesium makes it a hard box to tick.
