After a bit of advice chaps.

I recently picked up a V8V with the remainder of the AM warranty. Shortly after, it developed a 'noise' which was diagnosed by my local dealer as part of the handbrake system that needed replacing - this is not related to pads or disks.

I was advised at the time the time that it was not covered by a warranty and would be rather a lot of money to fix. I didn't really have any option but to suck it up and get it sorted.

I've subsequently had another issue, which has required a warranty claim and it's taken quite a long time to find the transferred warranty details and level of cover.

Looking through the policy, it does not specifically exclude the HB issue, although the dealer maintains that it's a 'wear & tear' item (I've asked them to look at this retrospectively).

The thing at the back of my mind is that I was advised that it wasn't covered, before the warranty status was established.

I appreciate that warranties can have some grey areas, however it looks like as this particular issue is not excluded, it should be included.

Is there a way of checking what would or would not be covered without consulting the dealer network?

Cheers

Ed

Specifically what was the mechanical issue Ed? What policy and level of cover do you have?
Specifically, a seized handbrake cable and the premium level cover.
