Rapide has a Car Pro C Quartz coating. She needed a huge clean after the Highlands, so gave her the usual pressure rinse, snow foam, rinse, 2 bucket mitt and shampoo, rinse. And then I tried something new - Hydro Foam. Diluted it 1-9 and foamed it on without further dilution, gave her a quick mitt over and then rinse. Blow dried her - it was just flying off. Ended up very very glossy and very smooth and slick. So slick I seriously couldn't get the car cover back on in the garage - it just kept slipping off. V impressive.

The say you can use the foam as the shampoo itself and just rinse that off. That could be a good solution for light dirt as all the other steps are quite time consuming.

Great result Anthony!

I tried it on the missus car and DD today - both a bit old and swirly. After a pressure rinse I foamed both of them and then gave a seriously quick light wipe over all panels with a microfibre mitt. Really great result for 20 mins for two cars! So good I even sold one of them and he thought it looked amazing and so shiny for a 12 yr old car!

The Aston unless really super lightly soiled will probably always get the Bilt Hamber thick pre foam, 2 bucket shampoo and lambswool mitt as before by hand, but if it just needs a quick little spruce up for handprints and light dust and to add some extra glossiness then this alone is absolutely great!

Get some of the reset shampoo too. Its my new favourite shampoo.
There's a recommendation :-) This is the stuff Pete https://carpro.uk.com/products/reset-maintenance-s... Nicer than what my missus uses (and more expensive)! Some sites do it carriage free.

On the Hydrofoam they said to dilute it 1:9 first and close the valve on the foam lance (so as it doesn't get diluted more). If car is dirty I would personally do the std process of thicker foam/shampoo etc first . The Hydrofoam will add less than 5 mins at the very end and literally halves the blow drying time. Sorry I sound like Vidal Sasooon! biggrin

How do you blow dry a car???
With something like this.
Yes that is the one I have. Pushes you back a foot when you switch it on!

Particularly after this Hydrofoam it just flies the water off and that includes in nooks and crannies so you don't get water run lines from trim/handles etc. Pushes the water of the chrome grille too which water spots so easily. Has another pipe that makes it work as a vacuum cleaner too - missus might approve more!

Paul, chamois is absolutely dead mate. Try something like this http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000007.pl... - have one for sale now wink

Shiniest car in the car park (this ones for you Paddy biggrin)

Ok there has been a lot of talk about us blow drying beading weirdo fetishists! So, heres a quick vid I did after parking a soaked car in the garage. I spent 4 mins blowing her dry and I know that it wont be a mess of water spots when I get her out on the weekend. If you did this with microfiber cloths you would induce scratches and swirls as she is dirty after a 400 mile run.

It works an a absolute treat due to the previous clever coatings and Hydrofoam. Now you too will understand us thumbupsmile

Glossy! Looks absolutely fab David! I think this works great on dark colours - not much happened on wife's flat white 235i when I tried it.

Hmm? Mine has the same brand's Car Pro C Quartz Professional coating (many layers of it). I think this is pretty similar to your G Techniq Crystal Serum product in principle - seals the paint with a glossy silica based polymer?

I diluted mine 9:1 with water and used the foam lance with the valve closed so as it didnt dilute it further I think. Not using an old olive oil bottle are you wink
