Manual DB9 buyers guide / Service History gap
Discussion
Hello,
Got my act and funds together for a DB9, manual only(!), RHD, I know this is my third / fourth thread now but ... But it's my first proper car and I am quite excited.
I have ordered Grants book (thanks PH) but still have a few questions.
I am awaiting an update from a dealer ref one car they have coming into stock, it 'says' FAMSH albeit not since late 2014 (maybe Oct/Nov).
From what I have read, oil level is crucial on these cars so what should I be checking or worrying about? At the moment I don't know the mileage between the service and now.
Thanks ... Again.
Unless anyone else knows of one for sale ... Am I allowed to post a link to a wanted advert here?

Thanks Grant, no issue with future value as it'll never be sold.
I am just wondering as to the potential
Impact on the car, I assume if the mileage gal is low then it'll be a minor risk ... I mean Ferraris / AM / Lambos here on the continent are rarely serviced annually like in the Uk ....
Difficult to track one down in budget at the moment, I think after this weekend if none of my searching pans out I will place a wanted advert.

Enjoying the new DB9?
Yeah the search function is annoying, makes me wonder if any autos are in fact manual ...
Will solder on, there is one at JCT17 that's been for sale for a long time as the interior is awful!
Still awaiting feedback from a dealer who told me they had one coming in on Friday ....

Is it the wrong time of year or something?!
Not one email from my wanted and no new cars for the past few weeks 😔
I go on holiday next Sunday and it will be a pain to sort anything from where I will be !!
There seems to be one in the AMOC but pushing £50k ... The chaps on here "Blofeld" running DBS power and from BR went for that ...

That's a really good point Rob, something I had not considered.
I don't think December is the best month for buying either. I started looking in July / Aug and the volume was much higher (although my funds were much lower).
Just a tidy manual DB9 in a nice colour and good history is all I am after.
Can't afford a V12V ...

Auto technology has come a long way since the DB9 ...
Anyway, I am unsure whether to keep searching for a DB9 or look for an early 4.7 Vantage (just coming into budget in manual).
I feel like I am scraping for a DB9 and the running costs will be significantly higher where as I can look at AM "Timeless" for my budget and in V8 form.
I won't drive the car much really, there is only my partner and I, my thinking was we could buy and keep the DB9 of we have a family / 4 seats etc but in reality I am going to put a baby or young child in the back of my AM ... Probably not.
