We got our first one delivered yesterday afternoon and I have mixed emotions about it really.
Very quiet, just sounds like a gay non turbo Impreza, oh wait... lol
A couple of styling issues IMO, the ariel doesn't fit in with the car. It's got a stubby ariel which is fine but would've looked much better with a small shark fin style like on the Lexus IS220/250.
For whatever reason they have decided to make a 3D 'TOYOTA' badge for the back which completely ruins the back for me, would look a lot better if that was removed. Other than that it looks the tits.
Interior seems fairly well built and laid out.
Maybe this is my young age in me but to looks the absolute mutts nuts it could do with a suspension drop of about 30mm just to get it sitting perfect...oh yeah and more power.

Are you a Toyota/Lexus dealer? How do the rear seats compare to the Gen 7 Celica's?
Yeah we are. I'm just in the garage side finishing off my apprenticeship. Tbh I didn't really look in the back but from the quick look I had I would say the back seats are there for the US market where the import tax is cheaper if it's a 2+2 rather than a 2 seat sports car. So in other words, the Celica has more leg room
From all the tests and blurb the whole car is about more of a back to basics formula where handling is put above power.
Only way to tell will be go and drive it, my guess will be the car will be superb where lots of corners are involved but for pulling away and straight acceleration you'll notice the emphasis on handling rather than power.

must admit that I'm completely in the dark on these, saw a thread this morning & thought it looked really nice, I liked the Supra, GT4 era & this is the first Toyota I've liked the look of since.
TRD optioned one looked lovely, not to Halfords
be interested to know more, though it'll be a long time before we're in the market, anyone know what the 5 year depreciation will be

I bet you get to drive one before me and I work for the bloody company lol
Speaking to the salesman yesterday, he said they took one around Brands last week. The salesmen were driven three or four laps and they said it was very good, but he's a salesman trying to sell me one so he'd be a chump to say anything else, wouldn't he? I'm expecting more of a nimble coupe with kiddy seats in the rear rather than a 'sports car' as such. I have no need for the rear seats, thankfully, but it'd be nice to have somewhere to chuck a bag or coat without having to go to the boot.
After the TVR, most cars in my price bracket seem a little staid.
I've seen one in the metal and sat in it etc, but wasn't allowed to drive it. There wasn't anything that I saw to put me off, it seems to be about the same size as a new MX-5, but more practical, I will be trying to sort out a test drive soon, as this or the BRZ is front runner to replace my MX-5.
I popped down to take a quick squint at it in the flesh...
I have to say I wasn't as pleased as I'd hoped to be. The press and brochure photos make it look great but in the metal I was a little disappointed. It's a little bit more pedestrian than I'd expected and doesn't really jump out at me like my 350Z did/does. I'm not put off by any means and eager to drive it next week.
