New Mazda 3 MPS - release date?

Anybody know when the new Mazda 3 MPS is meant to be on the forecourts? Quite interested to see how it stacks up against the other hot hatches and am hoping to get something in place of the MX-5 sometime this year. The plan is for the missus to buy my current MX-5, and we'll sell/part ex hers.

Booo! Hope it ain't dead. I can understand that feeling given there appears to be zero info about it, yet it's meant to be out this year

I do hope they bring it out, I like the current MPS, but am quite liking the refined shape of the newer 3 inside and out.
