What to buy

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum but have read PH for some time now and obviously like Chris Harris' work!
I'm currently sat on a WRX STi 09 plate Hatchback. I'm looking to sell this and move to something a bit more track focused that won't depreciate like a stone covered in cat pee.
I have about 12k to spend. I have owned lots of interesting cars over the years including an R35 GT-R. But what i really want now is a fast road car that i can track 4 or 5 times a year and not have to worry about it. I know a track day is going to mean extra wear on breaks and clutch but i'm ok with that.
I have tracked a few times in my Impreza at castle combe and that was great but I want something a little lighter and a bit safer i guess?

I was looking at Impreza spec c's or Tom Makinen Edition (TME) Evo's or maybe even an r32 GT-R?
What do you guys think? Do you have any thoughts on the above or would you recommend something totally different, like i said i don't really wanna spend more than 12k at the outset.
