Hey guys,

I am helping my brother out selling his RX8 and just wanted to bounce some thoughts of some people.

The car in all honesty needs some TLC and obviously this will be reflected in the price by not sure by how much.

The car is an 04 231hp model with around 54k miles. The engine is sound with new coil packs, HT leads and home service including plugs.
No problems with running starts hot and cold but no compression test done.

Body wise it has had a new bonnet as the old one was dented but does have small surface rust on the rear arches and boot lid (common places and an issue with mazda of this era).

The only other issues with the car is surface rust on the subframes, they could do with a sanding and some paint. The wheels could do with a slight refurb.

Other than that it’s a sound car.

Prices for RX8’s seem to be all over the place, with cars in similar condition but more miles asking for £1500 and then well sorted cars with similar miles asking for £3000! Do you think advertising at £1800 to start with is reasonable? He is after a fairly quick sale as he is planning on using the money to go towards a deposit on a new car.

Anyone sold a RX8 recently got any thoughts?

Yeah thought it would be the case, as with most vehicles like this it certainly seems the advertising price is no where near what they actually go for.

Will attempt to persuade him to get a compression test, fingers crossed this will help his cause if it's all ok! He is after a fairly quick sale as he wishes to purchase a new car with his girlfriend. Will have to see how it goes smile

Sadly we are down in Somerset and there is a distinct lack of Rotary specialists down here.
