350z vs S2000 to own
Discussion
To own and run as a weekend play car. Which would you guys suggest? I want anyone and everyones opinion. It's an opinion at the end of the day u can't be wrong. Let's hear it. At the moment I really dont favour either and I currently own an Mk2 MR2 NA.
Any current owners of either car, can I hear good and bad points of owning them please.
Thanks.

Hello,
I owned an S2000 before somebody crashed into me and wrote it off (felt very safe in the crash if that helps). I absolutly loved that car and took it around the Alps and into Italy. During my 2 year ownership I needed to replace the brakes and the catalyctic convertor. Other than that it was spot on. Mine was the 2004 model and im sure its the 2004-2006 which are most sort after. Its cheaper tax but still has the facelift and revised suspension and glass rear window.
If I had to be as negative as possible about it id say by the time you were in VTEC zone you were close to the speed limit anyway so never really could open it up massively. I know its got gears but it did feel a bit anti social revving the nuts off it.
It always felt light on its feet to me and just felt so controlable compared to some of the rumors you hear. Mainly the pre facelift I think caused those rumors to be honest, I think they were snappy.
The problem is now I have an S15 Silvia spec R and it just feels in a different league powerwise so it does depend on what cars youve had in the past. I know power isnt everything.
If you have any specific questions you want to ask just drop me a message.
Thanks for the reply. Yeh power really isn't everything especially when ur not 25 yet :P insurance don't like power. Maybe I should check I can actually afford to insure a 350z first... that might help the decision. The other thing about having so much power is not being able to use it much. Having 300+ BHP is nice but I wouldn't be able to enjoy it apart from on the track and I live at least 2 hours away from any tracks I owned an S2000 before somebody crashed into me and wrote it off (felt very safe in the crash if that helps). Loving all these answers they really are helping me out alot. I really appreciate the time you guys have put in to help me out I've been looking around for both cars but I doubt I'll be digging into my pockets until late May time as thats when the MR2 runs out of MOT. If the right car pops up in the mean time tho I may not be able to hold myslef back :P.
I'm swaying more towards the S2K because of the drop top. I havent considered the S15 I guess because im turning into a bit of an NA nut... Saying that though I will look into the S15 as im having a hard time finding either of the other cars.
