Had some good news. Her car could be here late June for an early July delivery.
Also, we're booked on the Silverstone tuition / experience day on 2nd August.
Reference the book, I heard about it so sought it out on eBay. It's 86 pages long and very informative.
I'm used to Italian cars but the designer of the 86 could teach Milan a thing or two about passion & soul

So you have the car now right? Pictures? Plans of changing anything on it?
Yes, she has the car. Still running in abd only up to 300 miles but she's loving it so far.I've had a couple of drives and can understand why they review so well.
Other than the installation of a Road Angel, logo valve caps and a possible reversing camera add on, DAB, no plans to change anything.
Coming from a V6 Alfa, it doesn't feel slow either, despite keeping it below 4k rpm.
It feels fantastic on the road too. Very light, very pointy with excellent controls.
Hater's will still hate no doubt.

Bubble burst. 16 days into ownership & just 423 miles, my wife is stranded in the car
Brake, ABS & slip indicator warning lights when reversing out of a space.
Toyota assistance don't know what the fault code (546b) is so car needs recovery.
Not impressed, especially after years of Alfa & Fiat motoring. Jap reliability my arse!

Thus far, it's making her previous car (10 year old Alfa GT V6 with over 100k) look reliable.
Throughout the entire ordering process, Toyota made Fiat & Alfa look like a well organised outfit too.
Just as people perceive Fiat / Alfa as being flaky, I perceived Toyota to be a paragon of virtue.
Wrong on both counts. My Mrs is gutted. I'm furious.

I hope it's a blip.
My wife needs a car she can trust & I don't need the hassle associated with a knackered car every few weeks.
The dealer have been good, making up for Toyota's inefficiencies along the way while waiting for the car (damaged at Portbury, delays, UK upgrade parts not available & so on).

I got a call this morning about my car (it's my wife's so she's hopping about that now).
Seems it was an issue with an electrical connector to the pump / module.
On Toyota's insistence, the connection was broken, cleaned (like someone else mentioned, the under bonnet is lathered in green goo) & remade.
Tested, no further issues.
Fingers crossed then!

No. Toyota slow to respond (as in haven't) with the authority to replace the part.
Dealer have ordered it anyway but it's on back order, ETA being 24th.
This only gives them a few days to fit & test when they did have a full two weeks while we're over in the U.S..
Seriously unimpressed with Toyota. Crap from the ordering part and will undoubtedly be just as awkward when my wife tries to reject this PoS
No faith at all now. Such a shame.

I know how you feel.
The dealer I bought from was terrible, the second one I tried when I gave up on the first wasn't a lot better.
I've since settled on Platinum Toyota in Bath and they've been excellent.
In fairness, this isn't on the dealer. None of it has been The dealer I bought from was terrible, the second one I tried when I gave up on the first wasn't a lot better.

The car was delayed for weeks at Portbury Docks waiting for heated seat pads.
Now the ABS pump is unavailable / on back order.
I know it's a specialist car but Toyota are proving themselves to be the automotive equivalent of a chocolate fire guard with this car.
Wife has just advised Toyota Financial Services & the dealer that the car will be rejected if not fixed with the new part by the time we get back.
Just to update this.
Car is back with a new ABS pump / module and so far, seems great.
Toyota financial services refunded half of the first months PCP payment which I think is fair.
The dealer has been great. My wife got a lovely bouquet of flowers & a card of them.
Sadly, whilst it was there, two of the alleged anti theft logo valve caps go pinched but they're getting then replaced
Love the car to drive, look at & be in. Wife is reluctant to use it just now (trust issues) so I'm playing.
