So I currently have a 2005 wrx prodrive wagon, but due to work I need a newer car.

I have driven lots of cars and today was the Evo X.

For the money it seems the one to go for.

Are there any points I need to look out for?

Cheers guys.

I have been ringing a number of different tuners and evo specialists.
The AYC pump now has a 5yr warentee (if you have FSH from Mit ) if not a new pump is
£600 to fix or £1200 to replace.

The clutch pack does not seem to be the issue, the issue seems to be making sure the oil is changed more regularly
And that will keep it running better for longer.

No one has stated about the engine being weak ????!!! Not sure that's true at all.

Still sounds a bloody fast car for not a lot of cash.

I think when they get circa 10yrs old, more people will find problems.

Hi guy's

Sorry for the delay,

So following a lot of test driving and forum hunting and talking to garages and tunning places I decided that the EVO X is not the one to buy. It seems it has quite a few problems that all seem to cost quite a bit to fix.

Instead I bought a sensible /dull Audi S3, it's very fast but the handling is rubbish compared with the EVO.

My plan to to convince the misses to buy the sensible car and get a EVO 9 MRFQ as that or EVO 6 TM seems to be the ones to have!

Cheers for all your help guys.

Sooooo,

I bought a 2011 Audi S3 as I stated and after circa 3months I have to say it great at everything, but Amazing at nothing!!!!

I am already in talks to sell it.

Its just to heavy, lovely at crusing on the motorway but when giving it the beans on the windy stuff it just cannot handle it.

Drove a Megan RS and I think that may be the one to go for.

I would love an Evo, but now a Evo X unless it's a manual
