Been looking at these for a while, there's one up locally http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

Thing is I can't get a handle on a clear way to confirm it's an LSD equipped car. I know it was introduced for MY10 but have seen it said the bottom of the steering wheel should have a blue section if it's an LSD equipped car.

Anyone any idea?

The 2010-on cars all had an LSD - a blue strip of leather at the bottom of the steering wheel shows if this is a 2010 on car with LSD. The fact the pic in the ad shows it doesn't have this means it was a 2009 car registered in 2010, so, no, this one doesn't have an LSD.

hope that helps.
Yeh thanks, I did suspect as much. Went and had a look at it they confirmed, nice car but lack of lsd broke the deal for me. Drove nicely though, needed some work on the paint in places as there were a few scratches that looked like they'd need colour to hide them properly and some nasty looking scuffing on the rear bumper.
Other than that though was good, needed an interior panel replacing, I'm super fussy so maybe someone else would take it in a pinch.

Thanks, I'll definitely take that on board. Still pretty sure it wasn't the right one for me though, I'm undecided on the red having seen it in person. Maybe it'd look better with a good polish.

Still, keeping my eyes out. Looked at the M3 and C63s again as the more common alternatives but they still just don't do it for me for some reason.

LSD on rear wheel drive is definitely worth it. My Rx8 R3 with rwd has an LSD and it is tremendous.
Admittedly my bias towards some form of mechanical LSD centres around a life of FWD cars that are terrible without them and simulators that focus around lap times on race tracks....
I'm not intending to track it at all, but I do enjoy a spirited drive so much so that I can imagine (maybe incorrectly) an LSD making it 'better' along with potentially a more desirable car should I come to sell it on.

There's still a few up but none that really tick the boxes, a silver 11 plate but with a bit too many miles is the nearest. The Blue one would be perfect (simply due to the colour) but being cat C that's out.

Had a look around it yesterday when I dropped by the dealers to discuss a few things. Sadly it was raining at the time so I couldn't judge the paintwork properly. Mine will be going in to the dealer to get the waterpump replaced soon. After that I'll have it detailed and the wheels refurbed before it gets advertised.
Generally it was in good shape, bit of interior needed replacing but there were scratches on more than one panel that imo would have needed paint to rectify properly. Not a bad car, I'm still mulling over whether to go back and try haggle a bit more or not even though it's not ideal spec...
