Slider pins have side to side play?

First ever post here and looking for some advice!
I'm considering buying a fairly cheap and cheerful Toyta Celica, 2004 model as it's literally gone up for sale 2 minutes walk from me and I've been considering a Celica for a little while now.
My main question is this: On it's last 2 MOTs, its advisory has been put down as this: "front both sides front brake calipers, slider pins have side to side play in them". I can't for the life of me find any sort of information along those lines online. Lots of info on slider pins being siezed, but nothing like this.
Has anyone come across this before? I'm wondering if it's a case of just replacing the pins (Dirt cheap) or replacing the Calipers (Not so much).

Hmm thanks for that. It does sound odd. Just out of interest, how much did the refurbished Calipers set you back? Seen a brand new front pair on ebay for £160, but not genuine.
I'll probably go ahead with buying this one, as it's only up at £1450 and it's in really nice condition inside and out. Plus the garage promises at least 10 months MOT and it only has until September at the moment, so when they do it I'll ask to have a look in on it and see if they can shed any light on it.

Just been to have a look at it again.
Only 2 real concerns: The bonnet isn't aligned properly. There's a bigger gap when looking at it on the right than the left side. HPI clear though and not been documented as being in a smash. Other concern is a bit of a knocking when going over bumps, seemingly from the front right. It's last MOT was September though and it's only done 600 miles since then, so not sure whether it's worth taking it for one myself before I commit, or just avoiding.
At £1450 (List price), seems alright. A few blemishes on the paintwork, bumper is slightly sticking out where it joins, but nothing noticeable from a distance. Engine seems great at 110k, revs nicely to the rev limiter, gearbox and clutch seem fine, had new Radiator and cam belt and water pump done, so those are my only real concerns.
Anyone think it's best to just avoid, take it for an independent inspection, or for that money just try and get a few hundred quid off?
Also anyone suggest something cheap as an alternative to a Celica? I live in Derby and there just aren't any others for sale nearby. Would considering either another coupe or a nice hatch but can't really find much at a decent price. Doesn't need to be super quick, but a bit of fun around the corners at least.

Apologies for the late reply myself!
I've had the car for about a week and a half now. Engine wise it's perfect. Absolutely lovely. Only issues I've noticed are squeaky brakes, which I'm hoping are related to the slider pin issues. Otherwise, it seems to pull slightly to the left, which is exaggerated over bumps. Not sure whether it needs wheels aligning or some sort of suspension issue, but I'll probably take it to the garage to give it a once over at some point soon.
Nothing really major (Or at least so it seems), but I'd like to keep on top of it before it gets any worse.
