Given a recent thread on GG, I'm now considering getting a car on a PCP, something I never imagined I'd do.

My question is then, does anyone know when they're going to stop taking orders on the current Suzuki Swift Sport?

Cheers.

A mate of mine who works in a Suzuki dealership tells me that what dealers have in stock now is all that is left so I would strongly recommend getting something sorted quickly as I don't think there are too many cars remaining. You won't regret it, fantastic car.
Cheers!

I'm off to the dealership on Saturday so I'll know for certain then. I was hoping there would still be a couple of months left in the old girl. You can still spec new ones on the website, CarWow, AT, etc.

So I contacted the dealer and they said as above, when the current stock is gone it's gone. Trouble is, I don't know what that means. Does it mean they only have pre-registered stuff left or does 'stock' mean what they have built and waiting in a compound somewhere?

Was tempted to wait for the new one but I'm not struck on the looks and engine yet and it could be a long wait. Last article I read said 18 months, and that was written in January. So July 2018. Even a week feels like a lifetime when you're waiting for a new motor!

I am pretty sure Suzuki have allocated all remaining stock to dealers and are not holding any more but will find out tomorrow as I am interested to know and will report back.
Any news?

I'm going tomorrow. Hoping to try and get a decent deal.

Damn, I completely forgot to do it so have text my mate to find out. How did you go at the dealer today?
The salesman said Suzuki still have plenty left on stock. He's gonna get in touch on Monday when they have the new APR rates, but reckons they'll stay at 2.9%.

Went for a spin out in the car and it was absolutely excellent compared to my Civic, the steering weight was the highlight. The power delivery, although the same humble ~140bhp, was also much better. Had a play with the tech too which wasn't quite iPad-like but was still decent and responsive.

Cool, seems there are a healthy number of cars in the dealer network although Suzuki themselves do not have many left. What colour are you thinking of going for?
I'd prefer the white but all the colours are decent. I didn't fancy black because it's a nightmare for cleanliness, hazing, etc. but the one I went out in was black and looked good, more like a very dark grey.

I've got a reasonable figure in mind and if they can do that I'm gonna go for it. Probably start a readers' car thread on it after a couple months if I do.

Well all SSSs are now registered apparently. Had to go for a pre-reg, delivery miles example. Worked out cheaper than a new one, just losing a couple of months warranty which I can live with.

5 door, pearl white or whatever they call it. Should hopefully be picking up next Thursday. Will be taking the scenic route home.

Cheers mate, though I have already read your thread. Any pointers for the car? Pros, cons? Only things I see myself doing in terms of mods is a set of mudflaps for that ultra-cool not-at-all-cringe worthy rally look and the CTC performance intake kit. I'm not really one for heavily modifying cars.

That photo captures the paint work very nicely. A word of caution - the paint is soft. It scratches very easily, but light scratches also polish out without much effort.

Mine is coming up to 8000 miles, and the gearbox is still loosening up. Unfortunately is out of action right now. I think one of the diodes in the alternator regulator has given up, so it's off to the dealer on Wednesday.

Enjoy, and good luck sticking to the running in schedule! driving
I absolutely love the colour. Looks so good in the sun.

Paint does seem soft, already spotted a decent mark on the hatch. Not too fussed though, man on a galloping horse wouldn't notice.

It will be getting it's 2000 mile/2 month free service check thingy.

I'm clearly going to be going to the petrol station more often. My old car used to show 450+ range, filled up before and saw 280. Dunno what size tank it has, I'll have to check.

Well I've done 6k in mine now so :

Hmm lots of positive LOTS to many to mention, I really do think for the money it's a great product.

Cons,

1. when the time comes I'm going to update the disks and pads for better braking.

2. I can't send or read my texts on screen but I've been told you can

3. I have a stone chip on my bonnet

4. As it's a very basic cruise control I find it can run away with itself on a steep hill

5. Tyre size seems expensive, but a lot change to 205 rubber

6. Im going to get a centre arm rest they are 130 quid from Suzuki

7. I keep wanting to buy bits for it and have to stop myself, the ctc intake looks a really nice product as do some of the exhausts, and ctc do a remap and I'd like the net for the boot (13 quid from Suzuki) and a bonnet protector etc etc. Basically I should leave it alone but so simple and fun to mess with I'm 35 for Christ sake just leave ! !

8. Pistonheads doesn't have a Suzuki section !

Struggling with anything else TBH
Never tried the text thing, will have to have a look.

I have a light scratch or two on mine, not really fussed though. I'm currently seeing how dirty I can get it before I feel the urge wash it. Apart from the inside; I can't stand it if there's even the smallest amount of gravel or whatever on the mats or dust build up on the dash. I have kind of cheated because I had to rinse a lot of fly blood and guts off the windscreen/bonnet after 4 hours on the M6, it was making me feel sick.

The cruise control definitely runs away from itself on steeper hills, but generally I find steep hills aren't found on the kind of roads where cruise control is actually useful.

Just ordered a full set of mudflaps which should hopefully come on Saturday and I can get a picture or two up.

Yes stick a pic up genuine Suzuki flaps ?
They're not. I was going to get them but thought they were a bit boring so decided to go for some from a company called Performance Creations. Black with red and white logos. Have all sorts of colours though. Apparently they're made to order so only just been dispatched today. Should have them on by the end of the week.

Edit to add two points. Firstly, despite what the instructions say you absolutely do have to take the rear wheels off, provided you don't have the world's smallest hand coupled with the smallest screwdriver. Second, the arch liners that they attach to are very, very flimsy. Hopefully they won't come shooting off on the M6.

What's the quality of product like ?
The flaps are good quality, pretty heavy duty. Not sure how long the logo will last, but if it perishes I'll just remove it from all of them.

My only concern is how well the wheel arch liners will hold up to the weight and movement of the flaps. Time will tell and if they fail it's not exactly catastrophic. I'm probably just being over cautious because I am with everything on cars and anyway I think they look epic.
