Japfest: Who's going?
Discussion
I was chatting to a Marshall afterwards about the NSX accident. Apparently the bloke admitted he'd had an 'ego' moment and was trying to drift it out of the corner. I guess rear engine rear drive cars aren't mainstream drift cars for a reason.
It was sickening to see though and I was glad he was essentially unhurt, although I reckon it'll really sink in through the week. Anynoe catch a glimpse of those 'wimim' near the Clarion stand wearing bugger all? it's a disgrace I tell you!

Guys, just steering away from the NSX incident a bit I wondered how people felt about taking passengers out on their track sessions.
I was there with a club took the car out on track in the afternoon, one of the club members asked if he could jump in as a passenger, which I was more than happy for him to. Are other clubs as friendly as this? Do you guys take passengers and if you do, how would it go down to have a random bloke like me walk up and ask to jump in? With all the fancy cars there I was thinking it would be the perfect opportunity to get a ride in a car that i'd probably not normally.

Fair point Simon, although common sense would dictate who i'd ask for a ride with, some young scrap of a lad with his cap backwards and a stupidly powerful motor or a chap who looks experienced, in a car he obviously has pride in, i'd be happy to take the chance given the odds, besides, accidents happen, you won't get anywhere not taking risks IMO.
I don't have any photo's i'm afraid, the ones here are the only i've seen really other than a few of your car on the back of the trailer. I hope you don't mind me asking, are you having to swallow this or are you covered in some way or another? Obviously, tell me to mind my own if you want.

After hearing too many stories of drivers getting the arse sued off them after incidences by their passengers I'll only take the usual suspects for a ride now around the track.
Funny you should say that... did you see the 'usual suspects' at Combe on Saturday? A White R32 GTR, Grey R33 GTR and a Silver Supra TT with green stripes up the bonnet calling themselves the usual suspects.

I can confirm I did not and have never put in place trackday insurance. I have trusted my driving over my 7 odd years of trackdays
Only once did my standard insurance cover track and that was with a tuned GTFour I still have to sell.
So lets just call it dented ego and bruised wallet. Lucky my new job gives me a company car shortly, of my choosing. Every cloud.........
I wouldnt want to be Tiff Needell anyways. Hes old and ugly LOL
Fair enough mate, it would've taken the edge of it a bit if you'd got a claim somewhere along the line. I understand about not bothering with it though, I have never and probably will never get insurance for my trackdays, trouble is you never think it's going to happen to you.I can confirm I did not and have never put in place trackday insurance.
