After all my questions the other day about the mkIII supra and being so adament about getting one I thought I'd throw this question in to see what happens.

I was offered to view the above today as I was on the subject of old japs cars to a colleague but know next to nothing about them.

Anyone got the patience this evening to inform me?

Cheers guys (again)

LSD as standard and quite a sporty setup for the era. As has been said, go for a 2.0 turbo, much better for parts, reliability and DIY servicing. They're quite big in Oz and have some following in America - although that's predominantly for the 2.6. The narroe body is a touch lighter but doesn't look anywhere near as cool.
I'm going to look at one tomorrow, 2.0 turbo, totally standard, wide body and white with them beautiful deep dish alloys that most of them have. Only has about 70k on the clock and it's a friend of a colleague so I'm pretty sure I won't be stiffed with a dud.

I'm quite excited now bouncedriving

have a look at Mazda RX-7 1978-1985 FB model as it's miles better at handling, power, economy and its rotary engined.
I thought about that model but don't really know enough about the rotary engine to be confident buying one.

Too late anyway, I've bought a starion, collecting it in a few hours and will post some pics as soon as.

sideways city here I come! biggrin

good choice if you ask me, would favor it over the Supra, has more character.

I think parts will be your only problem, not that it wil be a big problem being jap!

Let us know about the one you are going to see!
Bought!! not that bothered about the availability of parts as I have a second car.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the 4G63 Evo motor slots in reasonably easily if you find one with a blown engine...
The 4G63 is already in it, great engine

cool

looks in good condition for its age - is that rust around the rear arch or just dodgy resolution on the camera
Bit of both, theres a small bit of rust on each of the rear arches, the one you can see is the worst but it's not as bad as the pictures make out
