320i 170 bhp

Hi all,

I am starting to consider finding a 320i instead of a 325i or a 330i due being able to buy a newer car for the same money but have no knowledge of the 2.0 (170 bhp) engine.

Does anyone have one and what do they think of it, is it quick enough for day to day stuff or does the gear-box need using quite often? Also, are the MPG claims a good as the brochure says?

Due to the limited mileage I am not going to consider a diesel.

Thank you all for your input. I have decided against a 4 cylinder and will be looking for a 6 cylinder. Trying to find a good one is tricky however! Why does no one keep any paper work with their cars... I have been to look a quite a number now and they only have the latest no and stamps in the service book.

Going to call a dealer tomorrow at some point to check on one car I have been to see. From the service history I could not tell when or if the engine oil had been changed.

The budget... looking to spend a little as possible in order to find a nice well looked after 325i or 330i estate. looking at cars around 5 years old.
