So the deal is, there are no options?

I've had my 330d for a few months now having run a 335d Touring for the last few years.
The 300 definitely needs a few more ponies but it sounds like even if someone can crack it, the dealer just won't bother honouring any basic warranty issues.
hmmm.....and the price of the new 335d X-Drive looks potty tipping the 50k bracket (and they're not RWD).

Thinking of that fine new Alpina D3. 345bhp and 516 torques.....

You can get an M performance kit for the f30/31 330d warranty remains intact, the f30/31 330d is faster than the old 335d anyway (stock vs stock)
Thanks Chap. I'll call my dealer about the M Performance kit as BMW UK are only listing a performance kit for the F30 320d, not the 330 yet. If it's true, that would be a winner with the amazing ZF box smile

Re the power, I was running the newer version of the 335d - with 282bhp & 428 lbs/ft vs the F30 330D: 255bhp & 413 lbs/ft. from 30-60 you can't really feel the difference, the box makes it up. But in-gear acceleration the 330 is definitely lacking.
Thanks for the heads up on the performance pack. I'll post back what I hear.

This link seems to have all the info on the kit, just in case your dealer gives you a blank look!

Quality thanks chap beer
Some Sunday surfing earlier today found out a lot more over on F30post.com. ~28bhp and 35-40 lbs/ft without affecting your warranty. That's 335d levels and a bit more. I'm calling my dealer tomorrow smile

How much is this kit? ...get the alpina and be done with it
Dont you get this kit then wish you had bought the 335d ,,,get the 335d dont you wish you were in the alpina lol
Smashy,
I already have the M Sport brakes on my F31 Touring so it's ~£1,000 for 30bhp (to ~286bhp) and 30 lbs ft (to 443 lbs ft). With no effect on the warranty that;s good enough for me.

Now, the D3. I'm tempted. How can you not have 516 lbs ft and 345bhp in your life? I am smitten! But, I just got a great deal on the 330 so will hold onto this for a year and have a look for a used one once they get to low 40's. 50k is just too much right now. And, I'll need the Touring version.....

Hey Folks,
I had the "M Performance Pack" installed by my local dealer a month or so ago. My Touring already had the bigger brakes as part of the option kit so it was just a case of the i/c and the new ECU.
It's definitely quicker than the E91 335d I had and well worth the upgrade given that it doesn't affect the warranty. Alpina aside, this is the best diesel 3-series RWD action you'll get. Very happy with it. I'll get it dyno'd and post the figures sometime,

The F30 forums have already done this and state its just over 300bhp - so actual bhp/tonne v the 335d is similar but as its a smaller turbo in the 330d the top end loses out v the 335d. Plus no doubt there will be an official BMW remap of the 335d so that would be warrantied 365bhp fun!
Agreed. I'd add that the ZF box makes up the difference, and more. I literally drove them both back to back in standard form before I bought the car and despite less power, the std F31 330d I felt was equally, if not slightly faster from 30-70 than the 335d is. Purely based on the faster shifts and closer ratio's

This is a question for cheggers:

is there some reference code for your F30 'm sport performance package'?

my dealer said he's only seen it on the 2.0l models...
Sorry it'S taken so long to respond to this. I'll dig it out but it was called the M-Performance pack.

Yes confirming what was on my receipt:
"BMW M Performance power kit for BMW F30/F31 330d"
It was a replacement ECU + a new intercooler. I understand the I/c is basically the same. Dimensions are no different.

You can see more here:
http://www.bmw.co.uk/en_GB/topics/owners/bmw-accessories/m-performance-accessories/3-series-saloon.html#drive
Only 320d kit is listed but the dealer will be able to find out about the 330 kit.

I've been driving the car in this guise for 6 months+ now and I can say it feels 15% faster than the E91 335d everywhere, particularly exiting roundabouts smile

Hello,

I'm booked in to get this done on my 330d, in your opinion was it worth doing? I have read alot of reviews and people say it feels smoother and the kick comes in sooner.
Yes do it. It's a no-brainer. In std form it is a bit lacking behind my old 335d but this brings power in line with it and with the excellent ZF box it makes it quicker.

So BNW 330d powerkit 26bhp and 30lb ft for £1300 squids mmmmm is it worth it???
A friend of mine just spent £7,000+ on an extra 120bhp for his 997 turbo. Same old thing with cars, you could argue "why bother?"
For me, the 330d needs another 30 torques and well worth the price given additional benefit of no warranty issues.
BMW are being careful of course as if they offer much more, it defeats the object of the 335d, who's respective X-Drive only spec turned me off it.
