Hi guys,

Seriously considering this car, it seems to have been well taken care of, and has a fbmwsh, nice colour and spec, higher miles than I would like but if it is as good as it has been described to me, it has been maintained. It has had recent tyres, and front discs/pads and sensors.
Any thoughts on the car, I think it is priced well (obviously a wee bit less would be better) compared to other similar cars for sale.

Thanks lewis.

That is what I am thinking, which means others are thinking the same. I may take the plunge. It ticks a lot of the car buying boxes, I would still take a petrol over diesel but can't have it all.

I only got £6.5k for mine a year newer but 113k miles full BMW s/h new tyres no service due for over a year etc that was sept last year. So frankly is consider this to be way over priced.
Good info re price, like you say your one was higher mileage, how does this one compare in terms of spec to yours, my fear was it was at the higher end of the price range, but not too many in this colour combo, and spec. Were you a private seller? I am never too sure how much money a dealer will have in a car? 20%?? They have already spent a few hundred on pre sale inspection, good chance they got it for 7k I suspect.

Dilema is that I could wait till someone like yourself puts there one up for sale, and get a perfectly good car for 2k cheaper, albeit higher mileage.

6.5k trade is a good price then, this is a dealer that put some money into the car, is offering warranty etc. 8.5k or less would be a good buy I feel.

Yes 4 new Bridgestones, new front disc and pads, and rear drop links, and front suspension arms, I think it's a genuine car, and I am sure there is a deal to be done. Just a case of getting the time to pop over and view it.

I,probably don't do the miles to justify a diesel, but I reckon I will use the diesel torque more than out right performance of a petrol, not many petrols for sale. Also the dealer has sent me the full pdi report, and receipts for the work carried out.

Will the car have the swirl flap issue? And I have been told about breathers needing changed to vortex style, any knowledge on these issues?

Thanks for advice re swirl flaps, I test drove the car today, and it was great. First performance diesel I have driven and I was impressed. Very smooth, no noises or rattles. Once it gets going it felt quick. Interior was as new, everything worked, tyres almost new, brakes done all round. All previous MOTs and FBMWSH (according to service book). Only down side was the stone chips on front, but in the future could always look into a front re spray.

Should I go for it???

Deal done, pick the car up on Monday, pretty chuffed. Paid a little less than advertised, which i am happy with. Just have to stop looking at classifieds now.

Will put an update on the car, and the drive home once I get it.

Is it me or are cars generally more expensive lately? £9k for a 9 year old 3 Series - but looking around the price seems about on the money.
I had been thinking the same recently, it seems that things like tax brackets, are playing a part in the higher prices, plus cars are being shown they can go on for a lot longer now, so what used to be classed as old, and high miles is no longer the case, at least that's what I think is happening.

Just looked at the ad, it is a nice touch, had good service from dealer. Car would have been ready to collect today, but due to work it's going to be Monday. Nothing worse than waiting on new car day.

Exactly, I have bought the 330d with a view to keeping it a good few years, and put some miles on it. But it's not a worry as you see them handle the miles no problem, along with. Still looking good if taken care of.

Also, DPF issues, should I get it removed? Has anyone carried this out recently. Or should I just not worry and wait and see if something goes wrong in the future.

Will I need to look into replacing the oil breather for a Vortex one? Seen this issue pop up online but not sure if it affects the e90, car going to get wheels done once I get it, think I'll stick to factory colour, although seen some nice darker silvers/greys, not a fan of Black.

Car going well so far, just getting used to the way it drives, and the noise.

I will get the stats checked, and report back. I am still convincing I made the right choice going for a diesel. I really do like a petrol 6.

I do like the car, it's just my first purchase where I have had to consider other factors ie 4drs, economy etc. had it out yesterday with the family and it is a very nice car to drive, feels very refined. Think I just like my old car more than I like this one at the moment. Time will tell.

I have no doubt the car will prove itself to be a great all rounder, it's extremely bad timing but we have had an unfortunate death in the family, and there maybe a couple vehicles that need to be either sold or given new homes, nothing exciting but reasonably practical, and will be a shame not to keep them in the immediate family. Long story short the 330d might and only might be the car I own for the shortest period ever. (Sad day all round)
