Brembo vs Pagid brake discs and pads?
Discussion
So time has come for me to replace my brake discs and pads on the e46 328ci. Are the Brembo discs and pads (from GSF) that much better then the Pagid ones (from Euro) at half the price?
Its not a track day car and is used for commuting. However I still enjoy my braking ability.
Thoughts appreciated.

Pagids are the better of the two in my experience, which is extensive. My Megane R26 currently has Pagid fitted all round with another set in the garage for when the time comes.
A BMW specialist local to me will also only fit Pagid to vehicles.

- I used to work for one of the above suppliers.
Thanks for the feedback. I have fitted Pagid to many of my cars in the past and to be honest have never had any real issues. However I do appreciate quality if its affordable, which the Brembo items seem to be.
However there hasn't been a conclusive opinion here. Hmmnn
I'll have a coffee and think about it. Need to get the parts tomorrow as the car is booked in for this work.

Pagid come from the same manufacturer as Textar, the manufacturer of OE BMW brake pads! They really aren't a cheap or nasty product! Pagid is just a retail brand name of the group who produce Textar and many other well known brake part and other friction material brands. Have a little internet search and you'll soon see.

Made in a separate factory in Scotland, the same factory as Mintex. Pagids are produced in Germany along with their Textar counterparts.blank said:
They're not necessarily the same as the OEM parts though. There are almost certainly differences in friction material, slots, chamfers, shims etc.
They will probably be absolutely fine for normal use but they won't have been through all the same tests as the OEM part.
This. Everybody comes out with this "erm well it's the same manufacturer as OEM", not realising that the manufacturer makes hundreds of variations of compounds and that there is a world of difference between a cheap OEM equivalent pad and an OEM pad even within the same manufacturer. They will probably be absolutely fine for normal use but they won't have been through all the same tests as the OEM part.
Still, people love a perceived bargain.
OEM pads just feel right to me.

Nicely putThey will probably be absolutely fine for normal use but they won't have been through all the same tests as the OEM part.
After becoming friendly with my localish bmw parts counter and realising that value line parts are actually quite reasonable, bmw is now my first port of call for all consumables
check out their ebay shop its well stocked surprisingly
Obviously you need to do your own research and come to your own conclusions. But in AM circles it is pretty well known that the Pagid RS 4-2-2 pads sold by ECP are the same pads as fitted by Aston. Just without the huge mark up. There is no separate compound or different "spec". I have seen the Pagid pads from ECP and compared to those as fitted by AM - they are the same.
