Hi all,
Im new to the BMW side of PH and wondered if anyone can help me progress things. I have a badly seized wiper pivot and read various advice postings on what appears to be a relatively common problem. Anyway Ive followed the attached guide which was very useful and used loads of GT85
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.ph...
Im at the stage where im trying to remove the unit from the tailgate glass so I can then service it properly and safely without risk to glass. Thing is the it just will not budge from the tailgate. Does anyone have any tips or ideas? I ve tried gently taps with rubber mallet and even hammer but no luck.

Any help/advice gratefully received.

Thanks verysideways, that's reassuring. The spindles not at the 'moving freely' stage yet, its still very stiff when I use a mole wrench so I need a little more patience by the sounds of it. Could take a while though I reckon. Its only out be about 10mm.
Cheers

Yes taken plastic shroud off so got full access to the arm you mention. Just very very stiff with virtually no movement of the pin through the hole. Might try the twist and tap with a helping hand. Frustrating though as it will be a simple fix once out.

Finally fixed it!! It took patience and a bit of effort each evening but I finally got it out. Switched from GT85 to WD40 and WD seemed to be better. Now cleaned and greased and working..Thanks VerySideways really appreciate the advice..
