I recently purchased an X5 from a main dealer. The alloys were badly scuffed and the sales guy said they would be restored prior to sale. On collection he said that they were badly corroded and will be replaced FOC by BMW. He mentioned this is a common issue and so there is a large back-order with the factory for new alloys.

That was the end of June. I have now lived with damaged alloys for nearly four months and starting to worry that I've been fleeced.

Does anyone know if this is indeed a common issue, and does that backlog sound reasonable. I can't find anything on internet searches.

Thanks
