Hope to find some help regarding the micro filter service on my 2007 730d.

I took the car in to the local BMW dealer for an oil service recently and was told the car was also due (according to the data on the key) a micro filter service. This will be an additional £365 sir yikes

I was aware of the micro filter service pricing from other threads (oem air filter, fuel filter and 2 x pollen filters cost about £160 I think leaving £200 for labour for what I'd figure to be a 20 minute job! I said no thanks, just do the oil please.

When the car came back I checked and OBC said the micro filter service was due in about 12k miles.

My question is what's the difference (if any?) between the OBC micro filter service and the air filter/fuel filter/pollen filter service the garage says I'm due as part of this oil service?

If the dealer's correct I'll get my local garage to do the job along with the rear brake pads as for both they'll charge 40 mins labour @ £35/hr plus VAT plus the cost of parts (OEM for the warranty naturally)

I was offered the oil, microfilter, fuel and air filter service. On the BMW service pricing website this includes the microfilter, air and fuel filter but I have a microfilter service item on the OBC and am confused about the difference because they're difference items on the OBC but not on the price list.

For the oil plus micro, fuel and air filters the BMW price is £516 which is an additional £316 over the oil service (this wasn't the price offered by my local dealer as they try to get you to pay more than the BMW website!).

The OBC specifies a Microfilter service and the BMW Servicing Pricing menu talks about Oil and Microfilter service like they're related in some way? If the microfilter is the pollen filter why do BMW link them with the oil change as they're completely unrelated. Also why did the dealer say the key fob stated the pollen/air/fuel filter was needed.

I think I'm going to get them all done by my local garage for £42 plus parts at cost as thier total for all the filters plus rear brakes comes to only slightly more than the dealer wants for just the filters.
