Well, I pulled the trigger on a new set of tyres yesterday for the E90 335i to replace the PS2 ZPs. After agonising for weeks about what to buy, I decided to go for Hankook's new Ventus S1 Evo2. My other choices were the Falken FK453, Toyo T1 Sport and the Bridgestone Potenza RE002. The Potenza was out due to being W rated and not Y rated, though it has had good reviews and was good value. I'd read more bad than good reviews about the Toyo, so I scrapped that one, and in the end it came down to the Hankook and the Falken.

The Hankooks have been scoring some very impressive test results over the last year or so (based on the schedule of magazine test results linked in tyrereviews.co.uk). Lots of 2nd and 3rd placings, and, not wanting to spend $2,500 on CSC5s or PSS, I figured it was a good amount of performance for about half the cost.

Admittedly I will miss having the Michelin Pilot name on the sidewall, but sadly the fronts are nearing the end of their life and for the sake of good order I am doing the rears to keep it all uniform. So all up $1,145 fitted - not a bad deal at all in my books.

Will report back if anyone is interested..

Incorrect. You're not here because of a link. You're here because you have nothing else to do. Silly me for forgetting the existence of the PH terminology arbiters!

I just read the comments about my post on the separate cringey thread link. I can see them now. While their bored wives get pounded upstairs by the next door neighbour, they sit at their screens with one greasy hand in the crisp packet and the other on their unused d*ck, incredulous that someone could even risk using such a universally hated term for tyres. Or a phrase for making a purchase. Perhaps a little less anorak time in front of the screen and more time on being a normal human being eh chaps?

Jeez - you guys (OP included) need to calm down / step away from keyboards a bit more often to get some perspective.
And put your handbags away cop
Yes. When there are people who make an entire thread about terms or words they disapprove of in other threads, things have become pretty dire. I thought it was a reasonable post to be honest. Each to their own though I guess.

What's your wife doing whilst you are posting on the internet about tyres?
Are you not on the same forum right now?
