Considering an X5 30d M Sport. Having spoken to a couple of dealers, the situation regarding price/discount is confused.

Does anyone have any recent experience of doing a similar deal and what was the outcome?

I did better than that on the discount front but am still convinced that there is more that can be done.

Also, don't fall for the "these are hard to get" angle from the dealer.

I was initially told that it was a c4 month lead time from placing the order and pointed towards a nearly new ex-BMW management car.

When I told the guy that I would probably prefer a new one but didn't want to wait 4 months, magically a build slot and delivery for March appeared.
