Hi everyone.
Brief history, I bought a 2014 320d from main dealer.
I also bought a 2 year service plan.
Long story short, I didn't get along well with the car so px'd the car a few months later for another make of vehicle.
despite not being used, BMW dealer tells me that service plan follows car, so new owner will benefit and no refund for me.
I would be happy if I believed this story, but, how will any future owner know that the vehicle already has a paid service plan? What prevents BMW, or any other dealer, selling another service plan to the next owner?

Thanks Helix,
Does this apply nationally, bearing in mind the car could turn up in any BMW outlet?
When buying a used vehicle it isn't natural to ask if the car has an existing service plan. More likely the dealer will try to sell you a plan and may not even recognise that the car has an existing plan.
It would seem this system is open to abuse or mistaken reselling.
