Hello all,

My mrs has had a half decent idea for my birthday! It started with an EasyJet city break to Berlin for 2 nights, but I've managed to get it switched to a drive to Munich, home of the BMW Museum.

Anyway, what car do I take? I currently have an E34 which I'll gladly go in, but is there something a bit more special I could take across? The only thing is, that it would need to be relatively easy to sell once I got back.

My thoughts so far are:

650i: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SALE-BMW-650I-SPORT-CONV...

850i: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1991-BMW-850i-5-0-v12-11...

(suspiciously cheap)

E38: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-740I-M-PARALLELS-LOW...

Seems a bit cheap too...

Anyway, what would you pick and why?

Dan

Thanks for the suggestions!

Definitely want to drive over though, the idea of buying a car for the trip has faded, I was just bored on a night shift wink

The E34 could get me there now no problem I reckon. Might just tidy up the insides smile

Might have to rent an M3/4 too, 55 euro is crazy though! It is my birthday though biggrin

Cheers guys.

Well that's the ferry booked, spending a night at the 'ring as well on our way across. Now looking at things to do when we're there for two days. BMW stuff is obvious, but will there be anything for the mrs?

Main shopping street is Kaufinger Str, west of Marien Platz
to Hauptbahnhof.

Posh shops on Theatherin Str, north of Marien Platz

Depends what she wants really - three lakes area just north of the town
is quite nice.

Much more here:

Thanks smile

Seems a bit pointless to buy a 10 grand car just to drive to Munich for a city-break and then sell once you get back.

Why not fly to somewhere just inside the German border - Cologne perhaps - and rent something really good with Sixt for the drive down the Autobahn? They've got all sorts, inc M cars.

Has to be better than faffing around buying a car especially!
Sounds like something an accountant would say wink

I quite like buying and selling cars, hence the thought. I don't think I'll be doing it but thought I'd put it out there to see what PH would choose!
