Off topic from my previous post re my 4 series order...

I'm torn between the 430d and the 435d now.

To give it some perspective, it's on the Alphadrive deal, so the figures are approx. £420 pcm on a 20k miles contract for the 430d and around £450pcm for the same deal on the 435d. Both are X-Drive as there are no S-Drive available.

On the face of it, £30 a month doesn't bother me and the change in overall pace doesn't make too much difference but what about the general feel of them?

Is there much of a change in MPG?

I don't NEED the extra speed and I won't miss £30 and a few £ on extra fuel but I'm just trying to establish whether it's worth it.

Local dealer doesn't have both to drive in this or the 3 series.

OK, 435d it is...

442m 19" alloys, Alpine White and Coral Dakota leather.

Gives me everything I need. Can't see me needing any additional spec?

I didn't know that.

Is that because of the X-Drive?

There's certainly not many cars on the road that can touch it in terms of pace and to still get 50+ mpg on a steady run, it's pretty impressive.

I'm sure it'll be more than low 30's on a run mate.

I've seen high 30's in an X5 with the same engine!

Someone sent me a sign and parked a 330d in Estoril Blue with Coral Red leather outside my house yesterday.

Order amended...

Estimated delivery date 24/08/2015

frown

Company car goes back on 19th June.

I've made an offer on an E36 compact as a stop gap. Urgh.

The OH won't drive something that big.

We've just sold her car and estimated delivery on her new one is 16/08.

I just want something fairly local for under about £500 to use for 2 months then give it to someone...

£100 a week (ish) to hire something like a Focus so that'd be circa £800 gone for nothing.

Any ideas welcomed!

Before the order locks in, have you thought about adding M Sport Plus Package to it. A white F32 doesn't look great without sun protection glass.

With the 442 alloys it's minus £5 a month than stock alloys, and M Sport Plus is only £30 considering. its at £1,900 option so only adds £25 a month as the 442 is part of the package. Shame individual leather costs more. Used to £20 a month cheaper than standard leather through Alphadrive.

Also I'd recommend the F36 GC just due to it's every day practically, particular the boot as I never have rear passenger.

I just checked my Alphadrive and the F32 430xd is the cheapest, F32 435xd is only £10 more, F36 435xd GC is £2 more than that, and the F33 435xd convertible is only £8 more than that.
The order is done and dusted now but appreciate what you are saying.

I do like the GC but I've had 3 years of having to drive a large saloon so fancy a coupe for the next 18 months. The fact it's only 18 months is also excellent as it's really not that long until I can change if I find I dislike something - this is also the only reason I stuck with white.

With regards to the pricing differences, I know there will be times I regret not getting the convertible and the sole reason for that was because I prefer the lines of the coupe when the roof is up. The price differences are also exaggerated when you ramp up the mileage, in my case to 30k.

The AlphaDrive scheme is great though isn't it. The OH is awaiting delivery of a fully loaded MINI (XL Media etc) and in some ways I'm more excited to get hold of that.

I've just had a message letting me know it's arrived!

Wasn't expecting it until the 24th August and was going to leave it until 1st Sept for a 65 plate.

Needless to say I'll be heading over ASAP!
