x5 19 visits to dealer over 7 years.. Walk away?
Discussion
So I am looking at an X5 that by chance i found it's been to the dealers 19 times over 7 years, I have called the dealers but they say they can't give me the info because data information protection act..
1 owner all those years so clearly it wasn't bad enough for them to get rid, but anyway..
If anyone has a bmw insider that can help me get the info please PM me, the data protection is obviously bks, I mean what am I going to with that info that can harm anyone??
Thanks,
Fred

It's done 70k miles.
When I say I called the dealer I mean I called the BMW dealership who serviced the car and did the work, it's not them selling the car (private sale) so they have no reason to hide anything from me. But this main dealer wouldn't give me the information. He listed all the services done including exactly what they did, but said they were not allowed to give the details of the additional visits!

It was the first owner of the car that owned it all those years and had it in and out of the BMW garage. It was crashed (not bad, I've seen the pics Cat D), sold at auction by the insurance company where this seller bought and fixed it to sell on. So the seller doesn't have the info. There are no books, and only one key.. Yes I know, most people would not walk, but RUN
Of course all this makes the car cheap, or I wouldn't consider it. But it could be a good car for me as it will be the family car for the next few years, and I am not bothered about paperwork.
But the 19 visits is a bit of a concern. MOT's is a good point, also there was a visit for front brakes and strangely this they would tell me. The guy I spoke to at BMW commented that it had been well looked after but would not let on whether there had been any on-going issues or not, I find this strange!

Ring the BMW Hotline, they will tell you everything.
Costs a bit though.
They don't though, they can only see where it's been and when, not what was done. I was on the phone to them and they said to call the dealer who had the car in and they would provide more details. Only they didn't :-DCosts a bit though.
Cost £1/minute
Where is a good place to buy parts then...?
Like a complete and utter bellend, I reversed in to a low wall as I reversed out of her drive on the TESTDRIVE, ignoring beeping parking sensors AND the Camera, you should've seen the look on the lady face, she was in shock. Luckily, I had already agreed a price at this point.
What a tt I am!
Anyway so now I need a new reflector at the left rear.
Nice enough car though, and the price leaves room for any issues should they show up.
For a change Fully Loaded could (almost) be used:
Adaptive Drive
Comfort seat, heated / ventilated
Power boot
Pano roof
Comfort Access
Adaptive Xenons
20 inch wheels
Reversing Camera (!)
Aux Heating
4 zone Climate control
TV
DAB
Rear entertainment
Media Pack
Sun shading glass
Climate comf windscreen
7 seat
Upgraded speakers and USB
If it had radar cruise and heated steering wheel it would be perfect, but for the price I'm not complaining.
