BMW 2 series gran tourer - towbar

Hi folks,
My wife has the above, 218d sport (with upgraded bits) as the family wheels and it's been great. However, it's too tall for me to get bikes on comfortably as I usually pop them on the roof. So I'm looking at a tow bar mount.
However, BMW are quoting silly money for a towbar, anyone know how easy it is to fit one to these? In an ideal world I'd have the bikes inside the car but I need the interior space for when we go camping, the idea of this car is that it's the do it all car so would like to have the option of chucking the bikes on the back.
