Hi all,
I've been thinking of a new car ahead of next years ved changes and I'm tempted with a 535d m-sport touring. I'm just after some opinions on whether or not this is good idea in view of the new 5 coming out next year.

Should I wait or go for the sort of tempting deal I could get on a last production run? (circa 25-30% off)
I understand there'll only be a 530d engine in the G30 is that right?

I test drove the 530d m-sport (saloon) and I'm wondering what the main difference is with the 35d engine, I found the 530d had a wee bit of initial lag before taking off.

I suppose my main issue is the design is now 6 years old today, I nearly bought a 520d SE in 2011 before plumping for my A4 Avant so while it'll be a new car in might not feel that much of a step forward.

What does the PH collective think?

Rich.

Cheers for the replies chaps!
Some food for thought certainly (although a decision will have to be made soon as build slots are running out!)

For those with a 5 m-sport what options would you suggest are worth having? My current configuration has got VDC, pan sunroof M-sport plus, Prof plus media, driving assistantnce plus (mainly for active cruise) Nappa leather, confort pack, vented front seats, mfd dash. anything else you think I should go for?

Thanks for the replies! Looks like I'm heading back into the configurator for mare confusion!!
I didn't realise the VDC on it's own actually raised the ride height of the car, does the std m-sport suspension on the touring ride well enough? (bear in mind I'm coming from a Black Edition A4 with 19 inch alloys)

Chaps! Appreciate the interset here!
One quote I've had was based on a list plus options of approx £62K, deal (from dealer via C2C) was at £45.3K over 4 years at 10k miles with a GFV at the end of 48 mths of £20.5k (£399 pcm) I put in £11.3K (p/x plus cash)

I'm refining the options list based on peoples thoughts here and I'm getting a little stuck on whether to option full adaptive drive, just vdc or stick with std m-sport suspension. I'm keen to ensure a good ride quality (I won't be hooning around country lanes too much) Not sure which would be the best to go for as I'm unlikely to be able to test drive differing set ups. I understand the VDC makes a difference on an SE spec car but not sure if going for m-sport changes things from just the VDC perspective. My quandry is driven by the costs difference, £958 for vdc £2.7k for adaptive drive.

On another note what would I need to add in order to play my older (30 pin connection) ipod via the idrive?

Cheers for the assitance guys!
Rich.
