I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 but the bluetooth in the car refuses to connect. I'm assuming this is a compatibility issue between old car versus modern phone? The previous owner's Iphone is stored so it would appear to be non-faulty.

Does anybody have any info or work around tips on this? I mainly want it for playing music, though hands free phone calling would be a bonus.

Thanks for that, though it looks like it connects via usb and my car doesn't have a usb port?

Mine's a 56 plate 335i with pro nav. No usb port, just an aux jack port under the armrest.

I imagine the simplest solution will be to get hold of an old phone/mp3 player with bluetooth and just use that for playing music. I can play it through the aux port currently but that's cumbersome, and hands free phone would be nice.

It all seems to be going ok with the pairing until the final step where a failure message comes up. Can't remember exactly what it says as it's been a few week since I tried. I did notice in the manual earlier it says to do it with the engine off so I'll try that later.

No I don't know if it can stream music. I don't really know what it can do tbh, just be cool to find out.

Just did it with the engine off and all worked. It even brought in my contacts so all good on that front.

No it doesn't appear to stream music though unfortunately.
