After some deliberation I am about to order a 640d GC, as I will be living on our motorway network for the next couple of years. I was hankering after a D3 Alpina, but the zero finance on the 6 was too good to ignore. So I am wondering about a power upgrade at some point to match (or get near) the torque output of the Alpina, DMS seem to be the go to company but I'm seeking advice from those in the know, especially on whether it is worth the outlay and if there could be any potential warranty issues.

As you know, I had a similar choice Blue. I doubt you will be disappointed with the Grand Coupe even in its standard form - its a gorgeous design IMO. If I didnt need a boot for the dog, I think a 640d (or M6 GC maybe...) would have been on the cards.

Good luck, don't forget to post in Readers Rides thumbup
Cheers mate, I take it you are getting to grips with the D3 by now? I was very close to going D3 (still might) but I will be living on the M5 for the next couple of years as we build a new home in Devon and I continue to work part-time in the Midlands, so the accent is on cruising and economy. I was blown away by the Alpina, especially when compared to my RS4, but the zero finance and healthy discount on the 640 is too tempting. Will keep you posted.
