Looking at getting one of these in the not too distant future, been looking for a while now. Any models to particularly avoid? Ideally I'd like the 535 petrol, but there just aren't any about, so either the 535d or the 530d I guess. I know in the older e60 models the 530 sometimes suffered turbo problems, is that still an issue with the f10/11?

When did the electronic bootlid become standard? I believe it was 2012, but not sure what month.
Cheers

I owned an F11 535i last year, and it was a lovely car.
Took me 8 months to buy though, once I'd decided that was what I wanted.
In that time, only 3 came up for sale, and I wasn't quick enough on the first and didn't like the spec on the second.
I believe only around 70 or so F11 535i were registered in the UK between 2010 and 2015.
Worth it if you can wait for one...

That looks lovely, even the wheels I want. You're right about them not coming up very often, one popped up on auto trader last week, every option I want, sold the first day it appeared. Will keep looking, along with the diesel alternatives.

Anybody know about the electronic tailgate? There's a couple of 530d's on the auc site, both July 2012, neither have it listed so must be later than July I guess.

Not really considered the 520d to be honest, although that would make life easier as there seem to be plenty to choose from.

I have indeed seen that one, agreed it looks lovely. Sadly too far away from me to go and see. Not sure why it hasn't sold yet, it's been for sale for a few weeks now with a couple of price drops. The one I saw online more locally which sold on day one was also similar low milage and priced at 20k.

Mind sharing the spec and price? Think I'm going to settle for a 530d too. I'm after xenons, heated seats and pro nav as a minimum. Really want electric boot and memory seats too if I can find one with them.

I have to confess, it's certainly a bit of a find. smile
That certainly is a good spec. How are you finding it now you've driven it for a few days?

I'm looking at selling my 530d M Sport Touring shortly, really reluctant to let it go as it has been such a good car and is always my first choice car if I need to go anywhere in a hurry or a long journey. I bought it new in October 2011 and looked several times at replacing it with a 535d but could never find one with as good a specification as mine, they always had some of my main favourite options missing.
What's the spec of yours?

Glad to hear it.

There seems to be a few more popping up on the auc site at the moment, still none with the electric boot though, well not in my price range.

Quite a few with identical spec, which is odd.

Went and looked at one last week, inside certainly seemed to be a nice place to be, sadly it was white paintwork otherwise I'd probably have bought it. Looked a little too much like it should have been a police car.

Looks nice. Comfort seats seem to be so rare on the f11's, certainly more common on the e61. I've never seen the leather dash before either.

Where did you get the window blinds from? I'll be needing some of those as the whole point of me getting the f11 is to cover the family duties that my z4 coupe apparently isn't suitable for!

Does the f11 use pressure sensors in the wheels or does it use the older system via the wheel speed sensors? Just thinking ahead to purchasing a second set of wheels for winter tyres and if I need to budget for sensors too.

Well I can finally say I've got myself a f11. I've been looking for about a year, initially determined to get a petrol, finally succumbing to a diesel. It'll make an ideal family car I think, pics to follow if it ever stops raining!

I got a 2013 (pre facelift) 535d sport. I'll have to put the vin in the online checker to get the exact spec at some point, but it's got heated memory seats, pro nav, xenons, sport auto box, 19" wheels and a reversing camera. It's got the headlights that dip themselves, which I think was part of the visibility pack along with the xenons. Not sure if they're the ones that follow the corner or not, haven't driven it at night yet.

First impressions are that it'll be the ideal family car, loads of space, comfy and powerful. It's also remarkably quite inside, both road noise and engine noise. Ride doesn't seem too bad either considering the 19" runflats, not sure if I'll eventually replace them with non runflats or not.
