CIC Map update including firmware and Combox question

Hi all,

I am in the process of buying a 03/2010 E90 BMW. The car has Pro Nav and widescreen CIC computer etc

It has bluetooth but from my research does not have the combox.

I would really like music streaming but thinking maybe I can upload music to the built in hard drive and run my music through this? Is this possible?

Or can I insert a memory stick into the USB port and run music from this?

I would also like to update the maps to the latest update.

I am being told it may need an firmware update if this has not already been completed and then the new maps installed onto the hard drive.

Does anyone know someone who sells the firmware and the new maps for sensible money?

I work in IT and happy to setup bootable memory sticks etc and also have NCS Expert/IMPA/GTI etc so can code with guidance etc.

Any information would be great please guys. Also please post any links or forums that are good for learning how to code these cars with NCS Expert

Is the cd drive in these capable of reading dvds?

So could I buy the update dvd firmware and just insert the disk and go?

Also does the cd drive play dvd movies? Seen this on youtube
