E34 540i 6 Speed Manual

Hi,

I've noticed this car local to me for a while now and its now come up for sale!

Its an M'Reg (though private plate) 540i 6 Speed manual. I believe this is quite a rare car.

Its up for £1500, is in fairly good order but am unsure of mileage as yet.

Could anyone give me any major points about the car, have read bad things about bore liners etc! How rare? good engine/gearbox? Think I read about particular BMW V8's being very good and others not so good!

Might give the owners a ring and arrange a test drive either way!

As for age, insurance etc - Im 21! But have had a quick third party quote of £600 ish so not too bad!

Currently my car situation is a 2.0 Zetec Turbo Fiesta project and a 306 HDi!

The E34 would sort of replace the 306 but not do as many MPG! The other half would have to get a diesel!

Had a quick look at the arches on this one the other day and it looked ok.

Its grey though so will hide it well!

Looks good, The M5 (I think) wheels make all the difference on the Tourer!

They should be in good nick with tyres that big!
