Following on from this thread http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0... I thought it might be a laugh to try and sort out a BB night out.

Not necessarily bike based, more having a few beers and a curry/other grub and saying hello! I thought it might work well to fit it in around when StuB is racing his RSV at Snetterton, as it's just up the road from Norwich - at least then it can classed as a bike trip! It'd be good to support a fellow PHer with a few friendly faces too!

As with most of my plans, there isn't one really. Norwich is actually a really good night out, there's loads of cool old pubs (there used to be one for every day of the year) and it's a pretty chilled out place. There's loads of good eatery places too.

Tim has offered to house anyone's bikes in their secure BMW dealership if anyone wants to stay and can't find a hotel with secure parking. I'm sure lifts can be arranged to the shop! I'm happy to investigate hotels (I'll be kipping over somewhere in the City as I usually last train it) and I'm sure most budgets can be accomodated! Norwich is also direct on the train from Liverpool St for the Londoners.

No worries if there's nobody up for it, would just be good to meet some new (and old!) faces from PH in a chilled pub environment and I'm happy to act as a pub tour guide!

You'll have to excuse Simon. It's not easy typing with 6 fingers
You still planning on topping up that posh-Essex tan (to show us carrot crunchers up) and coming along?

Right .... got the okay now.

Which part of Norwich are you staying in? We normally do the Premier by the river. Have stayed at the Maids Head before but that is really tired now
Good work!

I was going to suggest the Travel Inn by the river, to be honest. It's as good as any, 53 quid a night at the moment for a double or single and I know the bar's good in there! It's only a 10 minute walk from the City Centre and there's loads of watering holes en route! It's also directly opposite the railway station (so it's well signposted!).

Simon, Aky is at Snetterton today on his new Ducati. He's all by himself.
Meant to be going out straight after work mate. Looks like that may have gone tits up (sadly not literally - as planned hehe) - will know later. Will call in on the way past if so smile

Hotel booked!
The Nelson, near the river? I'll get mine booked this weekend.

As for the drawing, I'm a bit out of love with it at the moment. I go through phases, so I'll get my mojo back soon and I'm sure somehting can be doodled to mark the event of Stu's first season/our supporters club smile

That's the one smile
Just tried to book a room and it's saying none available for that night!

I'll give it another go later as the website was acting up earlier when I tried. You haven't booked the feckin' lot have you, to guarentee exclusivity? I know what you City types are like...

There's another one just up the road that has availablity though, so will book in there if I can't get it done later smile

ETA; says there's a minimum two night stay now. Was it the same when you booked, Tony?

Bump! Anyone else fancy a few beers and a bite to eat in Norwich to round off the season, and cheer StuB on at Snetterton?!

I've just booked into the Norwich Central Riverside Travelodge. 45 quid, sorted! Tony, I may head in on the train for a beer on the Friday too (if you've no other plans), last train home is about half ten so that will restrain my drinking a bit, ready for the Saturday night hehe

Should be a cracking laugh smile

Another bump and an update.

As some of us have already booked our hotels, we're still going to be meeting up in Norwich. But it now looks likely to be more of just a social gathering, drinking and general merriment than going to see the racing. Although we can of course still go to Snett if the weather's good!

So, anyone else up for some BB eating/drinking action?!

Sounds like a plan to me mate. You an afternoon drinker, or are you sensible and wait until it gets dark??

That's a shame Bob, some other time though!!

A cracking weekend!

Good food, good drink, good company and crap dancing beer

And Snetterton was entertaining yesterday too, as well as the bike racing there was a 'drift' car event going on, on the infield circuit. It was pretty good to watch... 'til one of them rolled!
