I'd like to be able to tow a bike - primarily behind an RV but it would be handy to be able to tow behind a car too (when I'm too whimpish to do a long haul trip on a bike but fancy having one around when I get to t'other end.

Thoughts on which are the best trailers (if we were talking cars I's go straight to default mode Brian James but know nought about bike trailers) would be much appreciated.

Cheers all.

Thanks. Can't get my head round an Ifor Williams at all - to me they're all about sheep and horse shXt! Whereas Brian James are the MoSpo guys.

Seriously though, I do see the value in a covered (box) trailer but don't want the extra bulk - albeit mainly visual rather than weight. Ideally I'd like a single bike trailer and then will be happy to fit cover over bike although it might be easier to leave it exposed as I have visions of lots of flapping etc.

Thanks for thoughts so far.

moanthebairns - Prices - for conventional open trailers seem to be between £400 - £800 that's for single bike capacity at the lower £ end to double bike at the higher. westerntowing.co.uk and trailertek.com are the two sites I've found so far.

Hoping for a few more first hand reviews/experiences here as it's certainly true in the car world that some trailers are better (more stable/whatever) than others.

Is it worth considering a van. I paid 1221 for my 06 plate Ducato van, 3 k miles since March running about and never missed a beat.

I LOVE my van, don't know why but it's brilliant having one!
eek I don't think that 'the powers that be' would appreciate a Euro jaunt/long weekend/whatever in a van!
