Hip armour, worth it?

As title says is hip armour worth having? I'm looking at swapping leathers from my furygan set to a dainese avro two piece. Whilst shopping about it seems that dainese and a few other of the 'top' leather manufacturers don't even provide hip armour pockets. Anybody out there vouch for it being worth having?

It's ok. Somebody on ebay has more money to spunk on dainese than I do. Guess I'll be sticking with my hip armoured furygan for a while longer!
