Not much more to add really, just got my fingers crossed. Avoidance maneuver at the end of the test is worrying me, but as long as I don't do anything daft the rest should be ok.

Just want to pass 1 and 2 and get my sweaty mits on a nice bike...

Cheers, my instructor has said you can get up to 4 minors and each time you don't hit the right speed through the trap that's a minor. I got a go on the DSA course I'm taking the test at last week, by the end I was passing just fine. Getting to speed on the emergency stop was fine, just got to remember not to roll off the throttle too early on the avoidance test, relax and not bottle it essentially.

Yeah, my instructor has hammered shoulder checks into me incessantly. If I fail to shoulder check tomorrow I think he'll shank me... wink

Nailed it, passed with no minors at all. Remembered everything I had been taught (which I always feel is a miracle in itself) and even started to enjoy it once I'd done the slalom and figure of 8.

I was even chuffed with little things like both times through the speed trap were recorded at 53kmh (I have a big thing for consistency).

Mod 2 next Weds afternoon, my instructor feels I just need to concentrate on my observations, I'm rushing at times, and road positioning.

If I pass I too shall be spunking a wad of cash on a Street Triple. Was thinking about a Sprint ST but the Trip seems more fun.

Interesting that a lot of people seem worried about the figure 8 - once you get to the figure 8 you're home free after the slalom, as the figure 8 can be done as wide a you like, you can literally use the entire test ground to the do the turns, as long as you pass through the correct gap in the cones, the correct number of times. It's not like the mod 1 where you have to do a tight figure 8, for the mod 1 test there is no limit or how tight or wide the turn must be.
Exactly what my instructor told me, and spot on. I didn't find the slalom too bad and once you get to go out wide for the figure of 8 it is really not that difficult (hindsight is a lovely thing)

Well a quick update, gone and passed mod 2 this afternoon. Thought I'd ballsed it completely halfway through when I accidentally knocked it into neutral at a right hand turn and I got a bit flustered, but only a few minors. Ride back afterwards was sublime.

CamRider in Chester are ace, recommended.

Started looking at Street Triples online. Being a tart I really like the Triple R in the orange paint scheme.
