Firstly, I loathe physical exercise unless its playing football.

Oh and I don't have a problem riding around the road, but I do on track days. When it gets to the end of the day and ive done over a 100 laps im fked, especially round knockhill as you never get a rest, my legs ache whilst riding. I'm not dying but I find myself holding back as im unfit as fk.

A friend pointed it out to me the last time I was there, everyone is getting off and eating bananas whilst looking like they hit the gym hard, while I get off and go for a fag and some Red Bull.

So, I decided to try insanity again as I've went from years of working on tools to a design job, (for those that don't know it) here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NEjf2unZSE
You basically jump about your living room pissing your downstairs neighbours off and collapsing in the a heap desperate for a fag. The last time I done it the difference was noticeable.

Does anyone else do a similar stty, preferably easier workout that I can do?

eat less. especially smaller portion sizes.

it's quite simply calories in/calories out. the easy way is to reduce calories in. the tough way is to increase calories out.

a combo is best, but for the lazy, just eat less.
He's built like the gable end of a crisp, if he ate less we'd struggle to see him.
This week ive had 4 mcdonalds, and chocolate fudge gateaux that serves 8 in 3 days with ice cream. It doesn't matter what I eat I don't put weight on.

And yes the duty free fags have finished I'm back on rollies.

Just before someone states, Give up smoking and eat healthier, away to fk! I love my fags too much.

cant swim and im petrified of deep water, I'll think of my dads video to get me past 7 seconds in the future.

I should say as well a big reason for this is the pain im getting in my shoulder again as it gets colder, I screwed it last year when I crashed and physio only works for a few days. Its trapped nerves apparently so I need to work it or it gets worse.

Exercising seems to help, so if anyone suffers a similar shoulder injury what works best.

not a whole lot you can exercise without using the shoulder. Pretty much stuck with running, though even then watch your posture.

or zumba.
Don't mind working the shoulder as long as it works and doesn't do more damage.

Tuesday night I sat in the freezing cold at the football and the feeling of a knife being stuck in my shoulder blade was back.

after 5 days of exercise I sat today at the football with no pain, so it does help it lots working it.

That was the main reason I started exercising again, as its cheaper and better than physio

Why does everyone want to change my diet, I simply don't put on weight its not an issue.

for breakie today I had, square sausage, Cumberland sausages, tattie scone, toast, beans, a fried egg and bacon and it was fking awesome.

Tonight's tea is roast chicken, roast tatties, peas and carrots, finished off with millionaires shortcake and ice cream.

and about a dozen twister lollies.

I actually tried T-25 last night, from the maker of insanity, its much better, 25 minutes total of exercise, not the hour that insanity is, lots of squats and star jumps. I think I might do that instead of insanity. I don't want to become ripped, I only want my shoulder not to hurt and be a bit fitter on track days.

25 minutes is fk all as well.

I don't expect to gain 2 seconds a lap from it. Its more to stop me cramping up and for my shoulder to stop hurting.

It would help with braking though, due to being so light I do have to grip and hold onto the tank quite a bit as I do get flung about a bit.

To be fair, every track day I do every session. when its open pit lane I do something like 150 laps. Which is a fair stint.

That's not really such a feat for a whippersnapper. I'm 50, carry my gut over my belt and manage all sessions without difficulty. I will admit to being slower straight after lunchtime though.....nothing to do with being unfit, more to do with the experience of knowing that's when most crashes happen
it is around knockhill, you never really get a seconds peace.

I've sat and watched people wolf down huge fry ups or pie and beans then go out on the track. How the fk they manage it is beyond me.

I've not done Knockhill, but by as way of a comparison of a short circuit I can offer you Brands Indy.

As for food intake, it's quite simple, banana's, a bit of chocolate, small amount of pasta and loads and loads of water. Leave the chav energy drinks well alone, they rot your guts
Yup, I do eat a lot of fruit to be fair as well.

Again, being fit doesn't make you fast. It may help maintain your pace, I agree, but being fast is down to a whole load of other things
No one has said it makes you fast, only you.

MTB - try the insanity T25 workouts. They are 25 minutes, very similar style to the standard insanity. But only 25 minutes. Ive done it for about 3 months and now just do it, 5 days a week. And my fitness has improved massively from it.

Worth a shot.
we have a winner, I did another one tonight and after a week of insanity this is much easier and bang 25 minutes and your done, not almost an hour.

its 25 minutes of constant exercise and I managed most of it with only a few stops for a drink.

Seems much better than insanity where I feel like dying at the end of it. Lots of similar squats and st but a lot less intense and to be honest more enjoyable. It still has the desired effect, i start out in a t-shirt and short and by the end of it im down to my boxers with the sweat dripping down my arse crack.

Its more of a start just now, the T25 is a good break in, but the dvd moves on as you do. A bit like insanity. I have 6 months to get in shape.

Ive moved more in 2 weeks than I did in a year and im already feeling more alert, less fked etc.

I might get myself back onto mountain bikes, the only problem is I have no where near my house to store it expect in the house.

It is good, T25 is basically insanity without the water breaks, pretty much same exercises just a constant 25 minutes. It works well for me. And as I/you have said. Its 25 minutes and its done.

Good going.
yup, I couldn't bare Tanya anymore on insanity. I felt like grabbing her by the scruff of the neck and flinging her out the window. Her smiling and enjoying it why im dying does my head in.
