Same st, different year... following on from:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Plenty of opportunity to catch up with some of the usual suspects and hopefully some of the new guys/girls will also pop along to join in... we don't bite and egos are left at the door.

Weather is slowly improving if a little cold at present but I reckon another week or so and should be golden.

So who is interested? - or have you all sold your road bikes and bought track slags! biggrin

I've only been twice but no one gets left behind. Everyone waits where there's any turn offs anyway. There's no idiots as well. Even loon who may come across as straight to the point and ruffles some feathers on here was a genuinely nice guy in person and more than helpful to everyone.
Don't ride behind yazza though as bits of his bike tend to fall off.
Careful now... you will ruin Loons internet awesome hard man image... wink

Yazza doesn't have a road bike at present so don't need to worry about that! biggrin

Did he sell his r1 for the mille?
I don't think so ... he has just bought his first house with his bird so think he sold the R1 to help do some work on the house. I know he has plans to buy another road bike but not sure if that will be soon or not.

Houses are fookin expensive. Never mind buying it, it's running it that's killing me. Just got more important stuff going on at the mo, but will get something sooner or later, it won't be anything remotely new or fancy though.
Welcome to the real world wink

Houses are a pain in the ass at the best of times... working on them even worse. I don't mind DIY (currently renovating my bathroom) but I can't stand finding the previous owners bodges which causes me twice as much grief!

I'm buying brand new next time!

What is the dates for this? Mod2 booked in for next week (whoop!).
It will be ongoing during spring/summer/autumn...

Unfortunately it is too wet and cold ... not to mention the roads are still slick with salt!

I would of done but cant tomo.

I need to buy a C spanner for my rear shock ? Do Bill Smiths sell that sort of thing ? Or you know of anywhere else that would be open tomo that do ?

Be careful cops were all over the A49 down that way this afternoon. Un marked cars, bikes and a Van. Also on the other side of the raven so I got told.

This new bike is bad luck for me Ridden it twice, pulled twice. mad
Dude I have a shock spanner in garage you can have ... Do you have toolkit for bike?

Set the rebound and comp screws back to standard, then setup preload for your weight.

I ran my rear damper preload on setting '5'

Why what happened? It was a beautiful day after 10am.
I may be out Sunday depending where anyone's going and weather dependant.
Lots of crashes apparently ... the roads were rammed as every FWB was out wobbling about for the first time this year... it's always the same the moment the sun comes out after winter. I like to wait till it calms down a bit but it wasn't exactly warm for anything more than a steady run although you'd not think that with the carnage I've seen... lol

Sunday is looking iffy weather wise but will keep an eye on the forecast... I'd like to head up over DB, Hawes and Settle for the first time this year although I've no idea what state the roads will be in ...

Like me biggrin i was out over that way on sunday. huddersfield to settle to hawes then back to devils bridge. i set off at 8am so didnt really see that many bikers until we got to devils bridge. I felt rusty as hell though until we got to ribblesdale viaduct. After that i started to get onto the groove again. It was a beautiful day and great weather after the morning chill had gone.
Give me a shout when you next do that run as my mate lives in Huddersfield and will join us ... he knows the roads that way well. He is also good fun to try and keep up with ... biggrin

what bike does he have? if he lives in huddersfield hell probably go up new hay road for small runs as thats where everyone seems to go.

im ste on them roads. Not so bad on the it from the viaduct into hawes as i can sometimes remember them but the roads from settle to the viaduct im terrible on. everythings blind and sharper than i remember.

We turned around as you come into hawes and went the bottom way i guess youd say to devils bridge. Ive been on that road once before with loon and yazzaetc but i forgot how fun that road was. There was a police bmw heading that way though as we pulled up to DB
Modified 07 GSXR750 ...

I usually ride out with Ryan and Simon quite a bit over Summer but I know Ryan still needs a road bike and not sure how often Simon will be out as he has a lot going on at the moment.
