Not long to go now until the new bike gets christened
I've just checked the weather and fingers crossed, we could be in for a dry one http://www.myweather2.com/Motor-Racing/United-King...
I swapped the fairings over last week for the slightly damaged 2nd set I got, 4.5 minutes to strip completely, 10.5 mins to put back (sad I know)
Tyres should arrive tomorrow, carbon frame protectors on their way, sliders to be fitted and double bubble screen should arrive Friday.
A couple of nights in the garage now just to get everything together ready for the first outing of the year
I thought that I would start a separate thread just so the other one doesn't get blocked up with photos

I've done all the work myself on the bike this winter, and despite hating every second of it, I'm quite proud and satisfied with myself. It's almost finished now, couple more hours and a wee clean and it'll be ready to ship to jerez on Saturday.
fk that. I've moved house and got a load of st to pay people to sort on that as well. My spear time is precious now and the current contract means a new ZX10 could be bought every fortnight, so bks to needing to save a few quid. We can interchange parts then (I can swap my duff stuff for your new)

I'll be back but not sure when. I'm moving out in the next month or two which is why I'm trying to get as many done as possible before I'm skint all the time.
Stay at home and live the high life or you'll end up doing TD's when you're an old fker like me.Mind you if you'd ever spent an evening with my gran you'd see why I was in the pub every night.
Finally got back home!
Had a great weekend ooop North and we were certainly blessed with the weather. It was good to meet some new BBers, sorry so many of you had woes but we knew it was going to be one of those days when we saw curlies bike listing off the side of the trailer.
It was my first outing on the zx10 and it started on a bad note having to feck around with the back brake while changing wheels. That is my first job on the bike I think as I can't be doing with that agg every time. I was a little anxious about noise testing but it went through at 100 with the baffle in.
The first session was a bit of an eye opener. I found myself tipping the bike in too early and having to correct myself. The bike feels much lighter with much quicker steering than my R1, and by comparison the R1 felt quite lazy on the corners. The other revelation was how the power came on. By feck, it's like a switch. A few more sessions in and I was finding my feet and getting more comfortable. The bike feels absolutely planted and never once felt the bike wallowing or bouncing. The brakes were immense.
Having had a look at the small amount of footage I took, I was hitting around the same lap times as I was with the R1 although it did feel faster. So for the first outing I'm not disappointed
I'm feeling like a broken man this morning. I'm definately not bike fit and I feel like my arms have been pulled out their sockets
I need to get myself booked onto another asap

You'll have to draw us a picture
I'm assuming my helmet is no good now?
A small paint chip is one thing, but that is a crack. Ask yourself how much you value your head and that should give you the answer as to whether its worth the riskI'm assuming my helmet is no good now?

Personally, I would take a hammer to it and finish the job off just to ensure you don't see it on ebay some time in the near future
