A couple of months ago I bough myself a bike again 7 years away. It's nothing special in the big bike world (2000 ZX6R), but I love it. The power, the feeling, the corners, overtaking, etc. I've done about 600 miles on it and enjoyed.. most of them biggrin

I've reconnected with a really good mate from years ago who has also just bought a bike after a break (and a pretty nasty accident in 2007). We rode together from 16 to about 20 and various spouts in our 20's when we had bikes at the same time but this was a handful of times. Now, both 33 we're older, a bit more sensible but absolutely loving it. We did a bikesafe course last weekend which I can completely recommend to anyone really, but definitely to people returning to bikes.

Finally I've started buying Performance Bikes magazine again which brings back memories. I did my work experience there in 2000 when the likes of Ronnie, Gus and Sal were on the scene. Had a great week and met some awesome people. This months edition was the 30th anniversary so had a load of old articles in which I remember reading the first time round! I was even on the cover on the back of a Goldwing pulling a wheelie. Ronnie said he could do it but needed a weight on the back.. I was that weight biggrin You can see my arm in the photo which is the closest to being famous I've ever been.

I've also been to a bikeshow today in Manchester, watch constant youtube videos of bikes, done a load of work to the bike and got my 2 year old son interested. It just goes to show bikes are in the blood and take over your brain, about as far away from an A - B machine as physically possible. Feelings of nostalgia, fun, adrenaline, nerves, excitement have all been thrown at me and it's great! So much so I've written a pointless thread about it on pistonheads getmecoat
